Psalm 119:105 NKJV
Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
The sound of God is a travelling wave that never stops. It knows no time nor is there any substance it can't penetrate.
It's been over three month since I've blogged. I've gone through a lot
lately and just didn't feel like blogging my progress and rehab. I've
been going to the gym about every day until recently where I've actually ran
outside. Two weeks ago or so I did back to back 6 mile runs outside, but
because of the compensation I got Achilles tendonitis for over two weeks on the
good leg. It's healed now and I have run back to back days of 4 miles and
5 miles today at an over amazing pace of 8:15. I started slow running
miles at 11 minutes before this so I just didn't jump the legs in gear. I
still have a long way to go.
I need to make slow steps and not rush back so quickly. Like I said
I'm not even close to healed even though it may seem like it. I have a
lot of pain all the time. I need to learn to not push the miles for
recovery, because the miles don't matter it's getting my leg stronger that
matters.
My last X-ray appointment showed that I still had a gap in my leg where
the bone hasn't re-healed yet. The doctor was hoping that was already
healed. But because of the Titanium Rod I can still run of course. There
could be another surgery to heal it faster. He said I could run outside but
minimal.
Emotionally, it’s been hard. I've been depressed but keep
going. I have other health problems with my Red Blood Cells which could
be serious. I won't know until 5 months from now. My thyroid is ok
with the thyroid medicine I will have to take the rest of my life
(syncthroid). It's so strange through this accident how both my red blood
and white blood cells were not where they should be. I'm taking
anti-depressants, because of the struggles, setbacks, and I’m just not happy. I have bad mood swings as well.I've had so many accidents lately with my
body it's unreal.
I did do a mile today at 7:57 because it was pouring down and I was cold and
wanted to get back home.. I'll try to continue blogging and keep in
touch. I'm still swimming as well about twice a week.
Life is depressing right now with all the pain.I haven’t been pain free from something for
over a year.
Did 5.48 miles today will my buddy Barry. He was kind enough to go
slower. I did the run in an average pace of 8:38 per mile. I was
little sore today, well the leg was really tight and heavy and the hip
was nagging but just because of the rehab. I still can't lay on my side without my hip hurting and it's frustrating. I wanted to go fast the last
100m's and it was hard but I finished strong. I don't have my garmin
with me so I don't remember what pace we were at.
Rest tomorrow and going to swim to give the leg a break. I'm learning from last time not to overdo it.
Well after yesterday's day off from running and did cross-training with a
lap swim, I felt the legs somewhat refreshed to run today. Even though
some of the miles are hard on the rod leg I pressed forward.
Originally my buddy Barry and I were going to do 5 miles but we over shot the
route and did 6 miles in a 8:47 pace (slow). I took it
easy and relaxed today. We did go over a overpass uphill which is good
for my fitness and testing the leg out. The weather was 30 degrees and
cloudy.

Last night I didn't get much sleep because of neighbors party which they do every night. This time they woke up our kids. We are taking care of two extra kids while their dad (my drum instructor) is in the Hospital with pneumonia. They both woke up screaming because of the loud noise outside. We have called the cops three times and they have even been cited previously and warned again. It seems they don't know how to quit. Don't know what the outcome was last night, but anyway my sleep wasn't a world record.
The run today I was a little sore or Mr. Titanium Rod leg was. I ran 6.06 miles in 52:11 at an overall 8:36 pace.

I'm shooting for a 10k race in May called the Law Day Run. I hope by then maybe I can be in the 7 pace range. But my goal is to be careful and be smart coming back.
Run with my Dallyce today. We both did 4 miles together and we were both sore. Of course me from my leg and going over 30 miles for the week and my Daughter because of her track meet. Very slow 9:14 pace.
