Ran 11.22 miles in 35 degree weather but nice and sunny for shorts.  The bottom of my left foot upper part under the toes is hurting.  No running tomorrow to let that rest.

Afternoon

Sprinted at my sons tee ball game.  I ran more than this but I'll just count it at .1 distance.  He hit the ball hard all three times and fielded the ball very well.  He also ran the bases very well and I was real proud of my 4 year old.  Sadly, this is his last game of the year.

Sorry about the foot but WOW on the mileage. What is your highest week?

From Jon on Sat, May 16, 2009 at 13:01:34 from 75.169.146.173

Yeah, no kidding- 105 miles?

From wheakory on Sat, May 16, 2009 at 15:59:56 from 134.50.223.250

Adam RW - I believe my mileage high is 110, but I'm done for the day. The foot I'm sure will get better. Since I'm probably now going to do the Utah Valley Provo marathon on June 13th. I was thinking of doing 90 next week than dropping back to 80 miles than 70 miles if work time permits. What do you think?

Jon - I was just running what miles that I felt to run. I just happen to hit over 100 miles.

Since I've only seen triple digits once either number is impressive.

My thoughts on tapers have varied. When I first started marathons I did a 1-2 wk taper now I do a 2-3 wk taper. I shoot for 20-30% decreases from my high. For SLC I went ~90/80/60/40/25. With 25 mi for the week of the marathon. My problem with taper is that everyone responds so differently.

Good job on the running this week. Very impressive.

Nice job on the miles this week. I look forward to seeing you race again next month. You will do awesome.

Bill - Will see what happens. The first Marathon of the year is always a "what can I work better on for the next one" race. I have no time goal. Just going to go in and have fun.

great training, and well done to your son, 4 yrs old just hitting the ball, I cant do that LOL.

When does your taper start?

From wheakory on Mon, May 18, 2009 at 12:26:25 from 134.50.89.55

Sam - Lately I only have been doing a one week taper but I probably will do a three week taper this time. Maybe only 80 miles this week than 70,60, and 30 (marathon week).

That's if I do the Marathon. I found out that I have another conflict that going to make it a difficult decision now.
