This morning I decided that I would run.  Where I didn't know if I was going to or not.the night before because of soreness.  I ran 10.22 miles at an overall 7:04 pace in 1:12, and all just by feel.  This is the first 10 mile run in probably three weeks and it felt good.  My thighs are still a little sore after the run, but my groin and knee didn't experience any pain whatsoever.  That was exciting and great progress for becoming injury free.  I'm still sore in areas where I shouldn't be, but that's okay, I'll just be patient.  It's a mystery where I experience pain and then it just goes away without really knowing what caused it.  The temperature was 26 degrees with some wind this morning when I started at 8am.

After that I did a lot of heavy lifting at our daycare where my wife bought some huge cabinet's and more play equipment.  It took us three hours to do what we needed to get done at the daycare.

I will not run tomorrow.  I want my body to get some rest to start a fresh week.

Evening:

I ran another 4.71 miles at an overall  7:15 pace tonight.  I decided to run again just to get over 50 miles for the week.  Nothing special just a nice relaxing run thinking about what this year is going to bring for my family and me.

Lots of lifting, thats how I can run well on low mileage. Do a heck of a lot at work to the tune of 500-1000 cases a night roughly each weighing 5-40 lbs apiece.

And then there is all the walking for hours.. Excellent weight maintenance and cross training I guess! LOL..

I thought you'd run today. Good to see the foot thing is becoming less of a factor. Now for the rest of your body. Your determination and drive is off the charts! No wonder you win marathons. I'll continue to keep your recovery in my prayers. By the way, it's nice to see I'm not the only one who does pushups/situps to supplement my running. I tend to do them when I watch baseball and football. Every other inning or an entire half of a game (rest during commercials). I think it can give an edge in overall training- burns calories and strengthens one's core.

Good to see you getting better and better each day. Good strategy taking it day by day.

Thanks Steve. The cross training is the only thing that helps the body from staying somewhat fit. Although, I'm no where close to abs of steel, but it helps burn some calories. Although, I look like a skinny little whip.

Jim F - I'm really trying to be careful. My thighs are still sore, but the fall was a pretty hard fall, and I think the miles from the last two years might be a lot to do with it too. It's sad to say but I'm not even motivated to do any speed training right now.

Rockness - do keep praying for me. I'm trying to get back to where I was with the Lord as far as my preaching license. The last two years I've let it slip and haven't renewed it, and haven't preached much. But it's truly my calling in life and I need to get back to it. God knows where we should be in our heart spiritually, it's just us that has to recognize that and allow him to direct us there.

I love doing sit-ups and push-ups and do them all the time.

Great job going by feel on your run yesterday, Kory. Managing 50 miles in a week during the winter is amazing! :)
