I met up with Cody and Logan at the start. I attempted a warmup at a very slow pace and my lungs felt aweful.  I started out alot slower than last year, but it seamed like the competition was alot slower this year so it helped me.  Logan caught up to me after a few miles and gave me a good pace until mile nine when he kicked into gear and showed me whats up. He got a 3 minute gap in the last 4 miles on me. I honestly dont know how he does it.

Mile 1-5.21, 2-5.31 3-5.41, 4-5.51, 5-5.48, 6-5.41, 7-5.47, 8-5.46, 9-5.56, 10-6, 11-5.25, 12-5.58, 13-5.46

13th overall 2nd in age 1:16:04

It was a time that I was shooting for considering the weekend I had last week. I felt good about my time even though Logan left me in the dust like that! Unbelieveable! Nice going Logan, and Cody. We looked good at the start and by the way Cody Im sorry for taking the glory of the photo at the start. Next time is yours!

Nice job! I was wondering how you guys did. !3th with a 1:16 sounds like it was a semi deep field. I wish I could have been there.

From Superfly on Sat, Mar 08, 2008 at 16:35:41

Good job Walter. A 1:16 is a pretty good time on that course. Take some time to recover after two weekends in a row.

Great time Walter, and doing it after last weeks event. I was thinking about you today hoping you would turn in an awesome performance. Nice job and now enjoy the rest of the time down there on your ATV's.

Holy Smokes! This has got to be some kind of "sick PR" or something. Very impressive!

From dave holt on Sat, Mar 08, 2008 at 18:07:17

Good job Walter - solid race.

Thanks James, I was grateful for logan to give me a good pace. I would have slowed down for sure without him. It was very competitive today. I actually was hoping on trying to stay with Josh steffen. He had a good 2 min. on me at 9 and I was glad that Logan nipped him there at the end. Logan said he grunted when He was passed! Funny. Ill get Josh next time.

Thanks Clyde it was a very hard start for me and I actually sounded like you for a couple of miles. I think I might have grossed out logan from my choking noises. It was soo hard to breathe.

To Jeff I am glad its over. I was worried about it. Im to tired to atv today! Maybe tomorrow.

To Lybi I just set a sick pr and I know I could have done better if I wasnt. I just could not breathe. My legs and body felt good. I have to figure out a balance. I wish you could have seen Logan take off at mile 9! I felt like I was giving it my all and he just left me in the dust! What a solid runner!

To Dave Thanks alot maybe Ill get down in your ballpark this year.

From Paul Petersen on Sun, Mar 09, 2008 at 21:33:08

Nice job Walter. Sorry we didn't meet up at the finish, but at least I got a couple photos of you that I'll send.

From Walter on Sun, Mar 09, 2008 at 22:13:16

Thanks Paul, I didnt know you were there! Ill bet that was hard to watch huh? I was actually thinking about it myself. I woke up at 4 am and had made my mind up not too. I didnt listen to my body this time round. But yeah, Youll have to send me those photos of me. I actually felt better at the end than at mile 9! Its probably because I yacked the hairball I had in my lungs up! ok enough! see ya
