I ran with Misty, Charity and Trick this morning. Started at Tricks house and got onto the park trail and ran 10.5 out and back.  They were having an aided long run on the trail so I got to get water and gatorade  along my run which was nice.  It seems like the miles that Trick was having a  hard time on went by quicker when we struck up conversation. She can easily talk while running even better than me.  At mile 17 I took off on my own and did 1 mile tempo in 5:38 and then jogged a mile and then hit mile 19 and did a 1 mile tempo in 5:50. That mile had some head wind.  I then jogged 1 mile and then did  a .25 mile sprint.  Then I ran back to Trick and she was only .75 miles back and I ran in with her to get my 22.5.

I feel great, I had some shin splint problem when I started but it dissipated.  Time for an Ice bath

Now Ill leave you with the Disney goodbye theme.  MIC See you real soon! KEY Why? Because we love you! MOUSE!  Ill never grow up!

From Walter on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 12:15:53

I try Clyde! Hey I asked Kory this and Ill ask you. Did you have anything special on the elite runners tables? Karen called me last night and asked me if I wanted to participate and I said yes but now I dont know what to put on there. Do you think Rollerblades are frowned upon? lol let me know if you did that last year so I can get some ideas. I have a feeling I may need to put a barf bag on the last one! See ya

From Superfly on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 12:17:40

I just put cytomax or powerade with a gu strapped to it.

From Teena on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 12:32:09

Hey Walter. I think I saw you on the trail a couple of times!! Tell me if that was you who I talked to at one of the gatorade setups. We briefly talked about what time you were shooting for and the time of the runner you were with. I think you said about a 2:25 and her a 3:32. Was that you??

Btw, nice run!!

From Walter on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 12:41:41

Yes tina that was me with my friend Trick. You were with a guy in a red Ogden shirt and I think the other guy had a white marathon shirt too.

From Walter on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 12:46:15

Clyde, that is a good idea. I havnt tried Cytomax so Ill try puting stuff Ive tried. Thanks

From Teena on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 12:49:21

Yep, that was us!! Sweet, now I know another blogger (or atleast I have "seen" another blogger).

From Teena on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 12:50:26

Actually ... now I've seen TWO additional bloggers!! :) I'll have to check out Trick's blog.

From Walter on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 13:04:27

Its a small world Teena! Actually Trick is a nick name for my running buddy her name is Danielle and she used to teach 20+ spin classes a week for the county rec centers. She's trying to hit a 3:10 SGM. She was saying 3:30 when we talked to you but if I have to run back and drag her in I will. Who were you running with? The guy in red looked really familiar to me. Whats his name?

From Jody on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 13:21:23

Great run today!

From marion on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 13:21:44

Great run! I love how you all are having fun running TWENTY-TWO MILES! Good times! Nice song. I loved that show when I was a kid!

From cody draper on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 13:25:18

Nice run today Walter. That will sure pay big dividends for you.

From Walter on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 13:28:33

Jody Thanks. Im going to your site to see how you did.

Marion, I was expecting 20 but ended up with the extra which is alright when I feel like I do afterwards.

Cody, Why is it that SGM is coming so soon? Im not ready!

From Teena on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 16:46:15

Yes, it's a small world afterall!! Isn't that a Disney hit as well? The guy in the red was Rick Pearmain. The guy in the white was John Dye. Rick ran track in high school -- can't remember which one. Probably graduated in '86, or thereabouts.

From Camille on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 18:30:33

Nice run! So, I'm confused, it wasn't a race, but people were stationed to give out water? sweet!

From Walter on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 18:37:34

Teena. Yeah, Rick looks familiar to me. It was good meeting you, is he on here also?

Camille, No it was just a couple of running stores that got together and had water stations set up along the Jordan River Parkway. It started in the dark so there were alot of headlamps! I was surprised at the turnout. I have to watch for them again. They are well planned out. No there wasnt anyone at the stations, just 2-5 gallon jugs every 3 miles or so.

From Camille on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 18:38:46

Okay, that makes sense. That's pretty groovy. I wonder if they do stuff like that down here?

From Walter on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 18:50:35

Camille, just look on the websites of your local running stores and check with them. They usually have a good turnout of runners and activities they do together. You know you just entered a new religion so with that comes the social part! lol

Walter give me a call I have a work related question. 860-6488

From Kelli on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 23:37:32

Wonderful job Walter! Scott and I were wondering about that aided run. We couldn't make this one, but they have been having them for the last 6 weeks or so (for different races). We will have to try to hit them next year---assuming I ever do this again.

From Walter on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 23:41:16

Oh youll be back alright! We will be in full force next year. Im not letting the Del Sol team squander because of a few soccer games that interfere with our running! lol jk

From Kelli on Sun, Sep 14, 2008 at 00:15:25

I wish the marathon were earlier, or that soccer started later. Saturdays are busy!

From Walter on Sun, Sep 14, 2008 at 00:18:43

I hear you there.

From Kelli on Sun, Sep 14, 2008 at 00:21:15

My 3 favorite people are up---Walter, Jon A, and Marion. We could BLOG all night, but we should go to bed!

From Teena on Sun, Sep 14, 2008 at 15:25:28

Walter, neither Rick or John are on the blog. Talked to them about it, but we'll see.

From Walter on Sun, Sep 14, 2008 at 18:31:42

yeah, it took me a bit of persuading believe it or not. I have a few friends that are thinking about it more. It helps me with accountability. I am grateful for it now.
