I ran 8 miles with the BBK group. I was chicked by everybody today. Let this be a lesson in humility. We did hill repeats and then did a competitive relay with groups of 2 people. My partner was Michelle N. She was really pushing me. Maybe I shouldnt have run with them as I was thinking Id lay low and was brought to my knees. haha I need to learn how to recover quicker from my hard runs.

I feel for you. It takes me over a week to recover from relays. Its as bad as a marathon...

From Michelle N. on Tue, Mar 03, 2009 at 12:14:10 from 75.162.244.89

Sorry for calling you a bumb partner:) I am so competitive and was thrilled when we got paired up (even if I knew you were the strength of the team:) That was fun but I'm pretty sure I'm going to need a major nap today. Oh, you still kicked everyone elses butts at your "recovery" pace.

From RAD on Tue, Mar 03, 2009 at 15:29:26 from 67.166.99.8

Yeah, I may have chicked you once, but that was on a warm-up run at a 10 mm pace and me picking it up for 5 seconds :) I don't know if I can really claim that one. You did a great job pushing through your recovery and you really did kick everyone's butt even at your 'slow' pace!

From Walter on Tue, Mar 03, 2009 at 20:28:21 from 76.27.13.75

Cody yes you are right! I cannot recover! I may need a massage or something.

Michelle, I was sooo out of it this morning. I didnt know we were running for a prize. I wouldve tried harder. Everyone was making fun of me. What the heck!? jk It was fun, its always fun running with you guys.

Rachel, whatever. you did great and I dont know if youve noticed your speed is getting better. You will amaze yourself.

From Michelle N. on Tue, Mar 03, 2009 at 21:11:54 from 75.162.244.89

Not everyone was making fun, just me:) I hope you've gotten used to my sense of humor by now. There was no prize but just glory:)You did enough to make me HAVE to work harder which was great. Had you been faster, I would've been able to relax and I really need to start working on my speed. I'll tell ya though, I was flying at the bottom of that hill. I thought I might biff it a couple of times. My Garmin said I hit a 4:28 on my last mile.

From Michelle N. on Tue, Mar 03, 2009 at 21:13:02 from 75.162.244.89

Let me correct. I didn't actually run a 4:28 mile, that was my fastest pace.

From Teena on Tue, Mar 03, 2009 at 23:35:23 from 67.177.20.13

Nice job in Del Sol Walter James!

Hey, I saw you post on Bec's blog that you rotate two pair of shoes in order to help with the IT band. Are you talking about two pairs of the same model of shoes or two completely different models of shoes?

From Walter on Wed, Mar 04, 2009 at 08:53:12 from 76.27.13.75

Michelle, I believe you did a complete mile in 4:28.

Teena, I have more pairs of running shoes than most chicks have any type of shoe combined. I rotate 3-4 pairs myself, but you guys arent running 90 mile weeks so 2 is fine. I have a pair of saucony and a pair of asics gel nimbus and I really like the asics. But the Saucony are lighter but I cant run in Saucony everyday. I usually rotate the same brand and throw a saucony in the mix once a week.
