Ran with the BBK group this morning and smoked a pack of cigarettes during my 10 miles of running. We did 3 loops of tempo running and I have to say my legs are thrashed right now. Id like an inhaler right now. I swear if I had a lighter, I could throw a flame out my mouth from the fumes I sucked this morning.

You are one fast man! The inversion is killing the lungs isn't it? I hope by the end of the week it will be cleared out.

You're an inspiration man!

From walter on Thu, Jan 22, 2009 at 10:50:23

Thanks Bec I am amazed myself the progress Ive made in the last 5 years of running. Theres always new and faster goals to make it seems your never at the top even when you win a race. Theres always improvement. Stay on here and youll have the support to blast through the hard times and "the wall"

From Bec on Thu, Jan 22, 2009 at 11:31:13

I work in Vernal, but I am from Lehi. Most of my long runs/races are in Utah Valley.

I love that one of your long term goals is to beat Sasha. He is so fast.

From RivertonPaul on Thu, Jan 22, 2009 at 15:53:13

Does beating Sasha with a stick satisfy your goal?

From Bec on Thu, Jan 22, 2009 at 16:20:48

Hmmm. I don't know if it's a good idea to beat Sasha with a stick, that could result in all sorts of running problems.

But that might be the only way...

From kungfublonde on Thu, Jan 22, 2009 at 21:55:31

I turn my back for a minute and next thing I know you're smoking?? You fall apart without me, huh Sparky?

From Kelli on Fri, Jan 23, 2009 at 12:26:51

Walter, you crack me up! I will just pretend that I stayed home becasue of the yucky air. Glad I missed it.

From Michelle N. on Fri, Jan 23, 2009 at 12:32:27

Wow, this Maui air is feeling better and better. So, I found out on the plane that there is a full and half marathon on Sunday morning. Bet you can't guess what I'm doing Sunday morning. Okay, I'll tell you, the half. Fun huh?

From Kelli on Fri, Jan 23, 2009 at 12:33:23

That will be way cool, Michelle! Good luck!

From walter on Fri, Jan 23, 2009 at 18:29:16

Sorry guys ive been awol. I got another touch of the non running side fever.

Bec and Paul, beating Sasha with a stick is not my way of sportsmanlike winning. haha. I just have to put in 5,000 miles for the year like he did last year and see what happens. I may disappear!

Bec, I may have to go up to Vernal to find work. its so dead down here. The only problem is housing! No where to stay there!

Rachel, hey blondie, thanks for all the polution from CA! It is killing me slowly. I am not falling apart. Dont you either!

Michelle, between the Arizonians, The Californians and you Hawaiians on here the pressure of exploding from hearing all your good weather is just not fair! Run that half and have fun.

Kelli, it was pretty crappy. Didnt miss a thing. Take care of that little doll of yours!

Hey Walter, I have a favor to ask of you. Awhile back you posted a website for bargain airfare. It was before you went on the Boston trip in the Fall. I can't find it on your blog. Do you mind posting it again? Thanks a bunch!

From walter on Sat, Jan 24, 2009 at 11:51:00

The airfare watch is called Airfarewatchdog.com It gives you the list of all the airlines as well as brokers etc. that are giving out good deals. We got the cheapest ones off of Cheap airfare.com When you sign onto airfarewatchdog you can have it alert you as often as every hour. I have it on every week but I think you can set it to alert you when SLC to Boston is the cheapest. My neighbor works for Jetblue and always lets me know when a great deal or the timing issues are the best to buy. Ill keep you posted. I dont think Ill ever see SLC to Boston for $99 round trip again but you never know. It was in september when gas was at 4 bucks.

From Smooth on Sun, Jan 25, 2009 at 00:30:29

THANKS Walter! I have a feeling it won't be that cheap especially during marathon weekend. I'm gonna get on the alert. Thanks for the great tip.

From walter on Sun, Jan 25, 2009 at 10:18:56

No problem. I usually check it every morning and thats when I found them for 99 dollars round trip. They go extremely quick though. Good luck, hope to see you out there hopefully or at another event before that.
