I did some speed work this morning on riverton's track.  After a mile and a half warmup I did 8x200's and 4x400's.  my 200's pace was around 39-43.  My 400's were 1.13-124. Then I did a cool down.   It was hard and my legs are still tired from saturday.  Its been harder to recover from the WBR then a half marathon.   It was real windy this morning and the sprinklers were watering the track more than the lawn.  It was a shocker to get hit with a spray of canal water at 5:30 in the morning!  I hope I dont get sick.

I ran 10 miles tonight up millcreek canyon from the gate close to the top to the upper parking lot. It was close to 5 miles up at a 8:15 pace. The elevation started at 6077' and ended at 8000' which was a rise of 1923' over the 5 miles.  Most of the rise was at the top.  It took me 42 minutes to get up and coming down I did a 5:45, 5:28, 5:08, 6:05,5:17.  My hip took some serious jolts and Ill have to ice it tonight.

Great running!

What time were you on our track this morning, I was there at 6:30 and didn't see you?

From Therese on Wed, Jun 25, 2008 at 12:29:29

Thanks for your comment! The weather is interesting. Cloudy, cool, overcast. it has been a very cool summer so far. Michigan weather is so unpredictable. Tomorrow it may be 90 degrees and stay that way until it snows in say...September. :>)

happy running!

James I had to have been there when you showed up. I didnt look at my watch but as I was cooling down a young kid came on the track and he looked like he was in high school. In fact I told the two ladies I was with that Ill bet thats one of james' kids. He had dark curly hair. Kind of tall also. Next wednesday come earlier! I usually do it around 5:30.

therese--I lived in West Lake Ohio for 6 years as a child and dont remember the weather except I could never see the stars. do you guys get lake affect rain and snow storms? Sounds like a nice place to run. I would love to have a nice lake to run next too.

Walter, I can't tell you this enough times. You are amazing! I can't believe the workouts you did today after WBR! On a seperate note Clyde will be in Park City this weekend and is looking for runners. I'm "helping" him recruit.

From walter on Wed, Jun 25, 2008 at 23:25:50

Thanks Adam, is Clyde doing a run? Im in. Let me make sure with my plans but Im pretty sure I can do it.

From wheakory on Wed, Jun 25, 2008 at 23:32:46

Get ice on those legs. That's an awesome workout Walter. Your pushing hard after the relay. What's next for you?

Im thinking of the Freedom run 5k in hyrum. It comes out of the canyon of top of utah half and full marathons and goes up that steep hill at the bottom of the canyon and then flatens out and drops to the park. It gets you ready for top of utah full. Then i think im running Park city but I dont know if i can be ready for it.

From walter on Thu, Jun 26, 2008 at 00:02:57

woops i meant the freedom run 15k. Big differance!

From Adam RW on Thu, Jun 26, 2008 at 08:32:20

Walter, Clyde actually posted on the discussion board as well. Doesn't seem like there are specifics yet.

From walter on Thu, Jun 26, 2008 at 20:37:05

Ok Adam, I can do a run for sure. I wanted to see you you guys wanted to do a ski or wakeboard or tubing after. I was going to take my girls up to jordanelle sat late morning to ski and tube so why not make a party out of it. If you guys want I can plan on a ski and bbq. That'll get more bloggers up to run with us! Your all welcome to join us. But let me know what plans you guys have.

From Adam RW on Thu, Jun 26, 2008 at 22:50:55

Walter, Go to the following link. Nothing is decided yet. I would love to do the skiing but I already have plans with my family for after the run. Thanks for the offer though it sounds like a great idea!!!
