| | I'm back! We'll see how long I keep this updated. Not sure exactly how far my run was today. Jared, Jake and I went up to the waterfall which was pretty cool because there were these huge sheets of snow/ice that we chucked rocks at. We went a little above the waterfall but not too far. Probably a 5 mile run. I wore one of Zac Slater's running tank tops that he gave me before his mission but I didn't notice an increase in my speed. Maybe next time. About 6 miles yesterday.
| |
| | I was up at my cabin over the weekend and there was a ton of snow so I didn't run. I got back from my cabin today and felt like I should run. Picked up Jared and met up with Zericksen in the temple parking lot and did a 4.7 mile loop at an easy pace. It was pretty fun running with Zack for the first time.
| |
| | AM- 3 miles. First morning run in a long time.
PM- 7 miles. Jared and I ran up the Reaper then met up with the rest of the guys who drove up. I'm not sure where Jared went but I just ran with the guys. I went to Molly's and they kept going. My legs are super tired from that run but it was a good one. Did abs after. Next Wednesday is our first meet at Westlake. I'm pretty excited for it. I went to Ross today and got some green nike distance shorts and a sick Oregon Project tank top. It's a little big but was super cool so I got it anyways.
|
| | AM- 3 Miles. The usual guys were there (Wade, Josh, Ali, Matt) except Price and Reed. Brady Olson was there. SUU spring break is right now so he's been running with us which is always a good time.
PM- 4.5 Miles. We did 5 800s where the first 600 were our mile pace and the last 200 was a little slower with a mile warm up and cool down. It was pretty tough but I kept a good pace. Did some benching after and a little bit of abs. Stretched a lot too. Only one week until the first meet!
| |
| | AM- 3 miles.
PM- 6 miles. I ran by myself today because I had to get some help with calculus after school. I ran 5.25 miles probably around 7 minute pace. The last .75 miles were three stride laps. I felt really good running today. After the run I did abs and wall sits with the team. I think I need to bring a water bottle to school because I get prety thirsty on my runs so I don't think I'm drinking enough.
| |
| | AM- 3 miles.
PM- Mile warm up then three 1000s. The first 600 we did at two mile pace then we went fast for the last 400. After that we ran a 400 with a partner going in the opposite direction around the track. Jared beat me by a little. Mile cool down after and then some weights. Wishing a recovery as fast as he is to Connor since he got his wisdom teeth out today. I also saw Adam Jensen at Costa Vida today but I got scared and didn't say hi.
| |
| | AM- 6.2 miles. We started our run at the Lindon Marina and we were supposed to go to the Orem sports complex place and back which would be 8 miles. Most of the guys took a wrong turn. We ended up at some dead end so most the guys just went somewhere else but Price, Matt and I tried to find the real way. We were unsuccesful so we just turned around and went back to the Marina. 6'43" pace. Good run today. I might go for a short run later today but it will be hard because I have the Sweater Swing dance.
PM- 3 miles. I managed to sqeeuze in a three mile recovery run. Ran one of our morning run routes backwards so I ran towards the high school then away rather then away from it and then back towards it.
| |
| | AM- 3 miles. Back to being pitch black after the time change.
PM- 6.5 miles. Ran the Reaper with Jared before practice because we had a Calculus review. My time was about 10:30 which I'm not super happy about. Part of that is just not running in a while and also it was super windy today. Didn't do weights or abs after since I had to go to the review but might do abs later.
|
| | No morning run today because of my calculus review. We were supposed to run 50 minutes today but I ran for then did two stride laps because my legs were hurting. I thought it was the cold so I cam home and put on running tights and ran 3 more miles. My legs felt much better so that's good. Did a little bit of abs also. The first meet s tomorrow at Westlake. Riverton is also running there. I think I'll run the 1600 and 800.
|
| | No morning run. Meet at Westlake. Ran the 1600 and the 800. 5:14 PR in the 1600 and 2:2? in the 800. Very happy with my 1600 not that happy with my 800. Good first meet though.
|
| | AM- 3 miles. This morning was so cold, it sucked.
PM- 7.5 miles. Ran to Molly's. My pace for the first two miles up Reaper and running across to Molly's was slow but I picked it up for 5. Got back to the high school and did two stride laps. Stretched after. I will now mentally prepare for my regional churchball game at 8:00. Hoping to replicate Kyle Collinsworth and his triple double last night in BYU's win against UAB. I went to that game and it was pretty fun except for when UAB came back from being 21 points down to only 4 points behind. BYU won though so it's all good.
|
| | AM- 3 miles. Super cold again.
PM- 6.5 miles. We did a speed workout and it sucked. We did a mile warm up then 5 minutes easy 5 hard. 4, 3, 2 and 1. After the one we did a fast 400. It was just a tough workout. One mile cooldown after and abs. Report on church ball- you can't win 'em all and sometimes you just want to make the other team look good. I scored 10 of our 27 but we lost by 41 points. It was still fun even though we got destroyed.
| |
| | My leg was killing me today from yesterdays speed workout. I only lasted a mile. In the evening I played some mad ping pong with Zack, Spencer, Josh and Jared so I'm counting that as a mile. Haha I'm not really counting that, I went and played soccer with my friend and a bunch of people he knew so that's the other mile I'm counting.
|
| | AM- 3 miles.
PM- 6 miles. Mile warm up with the guys. 8x400 hill repeats. Pretty tough but felt good. Mile cool down with Ali after. Little bit of weights after. Great weather today, cloudy and not too hot.
|
| | AM- 3 miles.
PM- 3.5 miles. The run sucked. I was freezing and had to go to the bathroom. Didn't want to go too far maybe 4.5 because of the meet tomorrow though. Abs after.
|
| | Dual meet at AF today. Super windy and freezing cold. Managed to PR in the mile with a 5:13. My 800 time was not what I was hoping for. In some future meet I want to run the 800 without the mile before it and see how I feel. Hoping to get a 5:09 at the Alpha Invite on Saturday.
| |
| | AM- 3 miles. None of the guys would start this morning so finally Price left and me and Josh went with him. We saw they went to Lindon Park and we were headed canal south so we just zig zagged down some streets and met up with them.
PM- 8 miles. Ran to Molly's by myself today. It was a good run. Kept a pretty fast pace. Had to finish with some time on the track to hit 7.5 so that my strides would bring my total to 8. Stretched really good after. Oh, and my time yesterday was a 5:12 so a second faster than what I thought.
|
| | AM- 3 miles.
PM- 5.1 miles. Easy run before the Alpha invite tomorrow. All the guys ran to Discovery and played tag for about 10 minutes. Jared, Riley and I put in a lap around the huge trail then ran back to the high school and did our 200's. Stopped at the junior high going both ways to say hi to Brayden. Stretched after. On our way back Spencer drove by and said hi. It was a great experience.

| Race: |
Alpha Invite (1 Miles) 00:05:07 | | Alpha Invite this mornig. The weather was pretty good. I timed myself and got a 5:07 but coach got a 5:05 so I have to wait and see what the official is. I got spiked during my race but didn't realize it cut me. After the race I looked at my right shoe and saw blood and realized it was my own from my left shin. Really happy with how today went but think I could've kicked a little sooner. I dropped 5 or 7 seconds so I'm pretty happy. Getting a lot closer to going sub 5. Shoutout to Jared who broke 5 for the first time today running a 4:58. Planning on running a little later today so hit me up if you want to come! Official time was 5:07.6
PM- 6.2 miles. Called up Jared and convinced him to run with me. Planned on going 4 but it felt good running so we went longer.
| |
| | AM- 3 miles. Slighlty faster than usual because coach didn't run with us today.
PM- 8.5 miles. Jared and I ran together today and started right after school until waiting until 2:30. We ran 2.2 then up Reaper and back down. I got 10:05 up Reaper. Ran from the highschool past my house to Jared's then turned around and came back to my house. Stretched at my house then drove back to the highschool to get our backpacks and Jared's truck. Pretty good run. My legs are super tired. For the 3.7 after the Reaper my average pace was about a 7:10.
Shout out to my boy Connor for getting his mission call to Paris, France! Saw all my favorite blogs at Connor's minus Tanner so that was sick.
| |
| | AM- 2.5 miles. Ran inside today on the indoor track. It was brutal running on the tiny track inside Valhalla. 25 laps was about 23 too many for that track.
PM- 5.65 miles. Mile warmup then 30 30's for 20 minutes. I took 5th today. After the 20 minutes we did that thing were you race a partner around the track and see who gets 400 first. I ran my 400 in 67 or 68. Mile cooldown after and abs.
|
| | AM- 3 miles.
PM- 7.1 miles. 6.6 miles with Riley. 6:27 average pace. Ran to Lindon Park then out by Home Depot. Two strides after then stretching and some benching, pull ups and push ups. Good workout.
| |
| | AM- 3 miles.
PM- 4.75. I left my lunch in history today but didn't realize until my next class was over so when I went to get it it was gone. I went to Clain's and made a casadilla and had a gogurt so it was kinda sucky to run. Mile warm up. We were talking about student counil voting which was today and Riley said he just voted for whoever was nice to him then Tanner came in with fire and roasted him. Tanner asked, "Does that mean you left the ballot blank?" Our workout was 800's where the first 400 was mile pace then a 100 sprint followed by 300 jog x5. After that we did 110 x4 sprints where we increased our pace 4 times. Mile cooldown after then stretching and abs.
| |
| | AM- 3 miles. Witnessed someone getting pulled over.
PM- 4.5 miles. Ran by myself because during practice I went to eat with some family from California. Hoping to go sub 5 tomorrow at UVU. Good luck to eveyone racing tomorrow.
|
| Race: |
UVU Invite (1 Miles) 00:04:57 | | UVU Invite today. I was feeling pretty nervous because I really wanted to go sub 5. Warmed up with a mile some stretching and drained my legs. Did a couple strides before my race. My first lap was a 68 which is faster than I usually go. Not sure on the second lap but ran a 78 third lap then under a 73 fourth lap. I ran a 4:57 so I'm pretty happy. Still room for improvement on the second and third lap. Cooled down after with Jared and Riley. We ran into Casey and Carson on their cool down so we talked to them for a while. Casey won the mile with a 4:10. Saw lots of people I know at the meet. It was a good time. Shoutout to Zack for qualifying for state! If anyone wants to run tonight around 9:15 let me know, I'm probably going about 4 miles to hit 50 for the week.
4.1 miles easy with Jared.
| |
| | AM- 6.14 miles. We ran the Reaper today. I got 10:05 again so I still haven't beat it. Stretched after with some good abs. I think I'm going to get new shoes today. I'll probably get the Kinvara 6. Planning on putting in 4 miles later today.
| |
| | 3 miles at my friends cabin in Fruitland. It was just a brutal 3 mile hill dirt road. Starting elevation was 6412' and it ended at 7543'. It sucked. Ran it it 27:04.
|
| | 7 miles with Riley and Simko. 6:57 average pace. Some strides after. Stretched and got ice for my hip which was hurting a little. Good luck to everyone racing at Arcadia this weekend.
4.1 miles by myself just barely. The weather was so nice. Went to Utah Run today and tried on some shoes. I'll probably get the Kinvara 6 but the Kinvara 7 was way nice. Also wanted to try on the Brooks Launch 3 but they didn't have any in my size.
|
| | AM- 5 miles. Mile warmup on the grass by the rec center. 1200 at two mile pace then jogged and 800 then another 1200 at two mile pace. 800 break downs after. The first 800 was a 300 then 200 then 300. The other break down was just 4 200's. Those were actaully pretty fun. Cooled down with Ali, Price and Wade on the track in the opposite direction. Abs after and iced my hip. It didn't hurt today but thought I should ice it anyways. Probably going to put 4 in later.
PM- 6 miles. A little more mileage than I thought I was going to do. I ran with Clain in Provo Canyon. Kept about a 7:25 average pace. Ice bathed in the Provo River after.
|
| | AM- 7.5 miles. Met at the high school then drove to Asa and Connor's territory. Ran on this trail that starts at Willow Park. 7:00 average pace. Went to Lehi Bakery after. The donuts there are so good. Shoutout to my Lehi and Lone Peak homies who took 5th and 10th respectively in the 4x1600 at Arcadia. Hoping to run later today to bring my week to 50.
PM- 3.2 miles. Hit 50 for the week so I'm happy. After I watched all the Arcadia races of guys I know. Shoutout to Connor and Zack for killing it in their races as well as Casey, Patch and Mckay.
| |
| | AM- 3 miles. Nice and warm, well, not really warm but running tights weren't needed.
PM- Couldn't make it to practice because I had a AB Calculus practice test. Just ate dinner and I don't know if I can run right now but planning on putting in 4 ish. 4.2 miles. I felt sick the whole run and I think it's because I had this weird zesty Italian fancy salad dressing. 8:00 pace. Hoping for a 2:14 at Herriman tomorrow in the 800 and around an 11:20 for the 3200.
| |
| | AM- 3 miles.
PM- 4.5 miles. Mile warmup then the 800. I thought the 800 was going to be around 4:30 but it started around 5:30. Ran a 2:22 which I'm not that happy about. Didn't have any time for a cooldown or warmup for the 3200. Ran the 3200 with Jared, Benny D and TB. Jared and I were running together for about a mile but I pulled ahead. Finished 5th with a time of 11:25. I know I can go faster but for the first time running the 3200 this season I'm happy. Mile cooldown after. Driving home from the highschool with Jared we saw Zack and Josh so that really made my day complete.
| |
| | AM- 3 miles. First run in the new Kinvaras.
PM- Jared and I headed to Lone Peak as well as Connor and ran with Zericksen, Jericksen, Jamison, Seth, Craik, Justin, Steven and Galen. We went 8 miles on what I think they called the Alpine loop. Pace was around 7:20 I believe. Ice bath in some stream thing after then played 7 on the line. It was a great time. We got courtesy cones from Arctic Circle on the run which was pretty funny.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 3.00 |
|
| | AM- 2.5 miles. The weather was pretty warm.
PM- 5.1 miles. It started hailing and was freezing. Matt and I did the speed workout that we missed on Monday because we don't race until Saturday. Saturday I'm racing the 3200 and 800. Today we did a mile warm up then 5 600s hard easy hard easy hard then a five minute break followed by 5 400s hard easy hard easy hard and a mile cool down. On the hard part I was hitting around 5:00 pace.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 7.60 |
|
| | AM- 2.7 miles. Ran by myself at 5:20 because I had a math review at 6:35.
PM- 6 miles with Connor. He was at PG to watch the UC Invite. We both race Saturday. Watched most the Invite after the run. Glad I wasn't in the mile because it was super windy and freezing cold.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 8.70 |
|
| | Ran the 3200, 800 and 4x400 today at the Utah County Invite. 1.5 mile warmup before the 3200. I was looking to break 11 in the 3200 with a 10:40. The fastest seed time in my heat was a 10:38 so it wasn't a super fast heat. No body was going fast so I took the lead for laps 4 and 5 and most of 6. My splits were pretty good until 6 and 7. I finished in 8th I think. 10:54 PR so I was happy. Still room to improve though. I did about a .5 mile cooldown/warmup then ran the 800. I was in 17th out of 18 but picked up the pace and finished 10th. Ran a 2:20 PR. I was hoping for 2:17 but I still got a PR. Got pack to where the team was and Riley told me all the 4x400 guys bailed besides him so he got me, Ali and Brian. This was my first 400 and first relay. Our goal was not to take last. Ali was the first leg and he ran a 65. I got the baton in 8th and took off. The 400 sucks. I almost caught 7th place but didn't. I ran a 61. I handed to Brian who ran a 62 and almost got us to 7th. Riley anchored with a 56 and got us to 7th so we accomplished our goal and each of us got half a point for varsity letters. Good meet. After I got Riley and Ali to run with me and Connor to Molly's. Connor got Asa, Collin, Guppy and Michael. It was a good time. 6.2 miles.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 8.20 |
|
| | AM- 2.9 miles.
PM- 8.35 miles. Ran to Timpanogos today. Started off with Riley, Matt x2 and Simko. Finished with Riley. 7.85 miles at a 6:33 pace. Good stuff. Two strides after and stretched. Riley and I are putting together a 4x400 team again for tomorrows tri meet so watch out Lehi guys!
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 11.25 |
| |
| | AM- 2 miles by myself at 5:15. 5:15 in the moring not pace.
PM- Got to Lehi and put in two laps. 1.5 mile warmup. Raced the 1600. I died in the third lap. I was second right behing Asa and first from PG but Price beat me and I ended in 5th I think. 5:05. .5 mile warmup/cool down. Ran the 800. I was near the front the whole time. I ran a 70 first lap so I knew I had to go to go under 2:20. Second lap was a 67. I was in 4th with about 100 to go and kicked and finished in 2nd so I got some points. Another .5. Got ready for the 4x400. My team was me (anchor), Matt, Jake and Josh. Did about .3 running around the field before to stay loose. We took 3rd out of 4. scoring some more points. Mile cool down. Talked to Bill a couple times today so that was cool. Also warmed up with Dallin and another kid which was fun. Thanks to Connor for giving lots of shout outs and encouragement.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 6.00 |
|
| | AM- 2.5 miles. Coach shook things up a bit and we ran Apple Grove in the oppostire direction we usually do.
PM- 6.51 miles. Good group of guys today. Riley, Ali, Jared, Texas, Simko, Matt, Brian and I. Ali, Riley and I finished a little ahead. 6.01 miles at 6:31 pace. My legs felt pretty tired today so I'm suprised I kept the pace I did. Barefoot strides on the grass after and abs. Shoutout to myself for making the lone faithful list!
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 8.51 |
| |
| | AM- 2.1 miles by myself.
PM- 4.75 miles. The track was so hot today and it was only like 78 degrees. I'm going to die this summer. Mile warmup. 1000 at 2 mile pace then a slow 600, 800 at 2 miles pace then a slow 400, 600 at 2 mile pace. 5 minute break then 5 200's with 30 second rest in between at 800 pace. Wasn't hitting 4:30 pace like I wanted to, the sun drained me. Mile cooldown on the turf in the opposite direction of the track in socks. Stretched after.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 5.85 |
| |
| | AM- 3.1 miles.
PM- 8.75 miles. Only 6 guys at practice today because a bunch had prom day dates. Riley went easy today before Davis so I ran with Ali, Wade and Jared. I took off to the canal and waited for them there. Started again and Jared stayed with me for one mile but Ali and Wade didn't even last that long. 6.25 miles by myself. My watch is garbage though and said I went 7.12 miles but I calculated the distance with USATF Route Maker and it was 8.25. I kept a 6:30 pace which I'm happy about because I had no none pushing. Took the canal to Timp then by Zac's and Tanner's Trail back. 2 strides after bringing me to 8.75. Good luck to everyone at Davis tomorrow or whatever meet you're running in.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 11.85 |
| |
| | Only 5 people at practice today. All guys. Pretty pathetic how only 5 guys showed up when only one guy on out team is running at Davis. I was going to run with Ali and Wade but they weren't really going fast at all and Joseph started later so I just ran by myself again to Timp, again. Did a lap around Timp's track just for fun. 8.33 miles. I kept a 6:03 average which was way good because it was super windy. Gotta keep grindin'.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 8.33 |
|
| | AM- 2.1 miles.
PM- 5.7 miles. Went to Lone Peak and ran with Zack, Seth and Will's brother. Good stuff. Lone Peak dual meet at PG tomorrow.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 7.80 |
|
| | AM- 2.5 miles.
PM- The dual meet got cancelled today so we did a speed workout. 1.5 mile warmup then 30-30s. 3.5 miles there. .35 miles of increasing speed stuff. 1.25 mile cooldown. Stretched after. It was very cold today and I was completely soaked. Good workout though, finished third. Ali and Joseph beat me and Riley was right behind.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 9.10 |
|
| | Two after school runs today because I slept through my alarm. First run was 7 mile Ali's way to Molly's extended at 6:53 pace with Matt and Riley. 2 Strides after. Second run was 4 miles with Jared to the pond plus a little. Very rainy so now I'm soaked and cold. Good ab workout today. Happy birthday to Connor the GOAT Baller. 14 never looked so good!
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 11.50 |
| |
| | AM- 3 miles. We ran on the canal and since it had rained there were so many snails and worms on it. Price picked a snail up to be our team pet, we named him Eduardo and after our run set him in some nice grass.
PM- 4.75 miles. Mile warmup around the rec and pool. Three 600's with a 200 jog inbetween. 5 minute break then 10 200's with a minute rest inbetween. Is inbetween a real word? Think about it and say it like three times and it makes no sense. Mile cool down after backwards on the track. Did some hard abs after and some pull ups and push ups. Pumped to run the 1600 on Saturday at Tiger Trials! Shout out to me and Asa for having a picture of us racing in the PGHS paper.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 7.75 |
|
| | AM- 2.5 miles. Didn't see a car the entire run.
PM- 5.55 miles. 5.17 miles with most the guys. Zericksen ran with us so it was a good time. Three 200's on the track. Stretching after. Pumped for the 1600 tomorrow at Tiger Trials.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 8.05 |
|
| Race: |
Tiger Trials (1 Miles) 00:04:52 | | Got to Orem and put in two laps with Jared. A little bit windy on the back stretch. 1.5 mile warmup with all the guys running the mile, Jared, Price, Josh and Eric. Got back and stretched and drained legs. Did some strides before the race. I was heat 3 seed 11. Josh and Jared were also in my heat and Asa. The fastest seed time was a 4:53.3 so I knew I would have to be in the front to qualify for BYU. This made me go too fast at the start. I started out way too fast with a 67 or something and got a 78 I think in the third. Ran a 4:52 PR. I'm more disappointed then happy with that time because I really wanted to qualify for BYU. 2 mile cool down after by myself.
PM- 3.4 miles with Jared.
4.17 miles with Casey a little after running with Jared.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 11.57 |
| |
| | AM- 2.8 miles.
PM- 1 mile warmup on the track backwards by myself. .5 closer to the race with Zericksen. There weren't that many LP guys so they all ran the 1600 and that was it. 4 PG guys in the 800. I won with a 2:21 so I picked up 5 points. Immediately after we threw together the only boys medley team so I got another 1.25. I ran the 400 pretty slowly in the medley because the two mile was only one event away. We had 3 or 4 guys in the 2 mile. I took second with an awful 11:38 so picked up 3 points there. Right after that got a 4x400 together against another PG 4x400 and got another 1.25 points. 10.5 points total today. I think I'm .75 points away from a varsity letter. 1 mile cool down backwards on the track by myself. I felt awful racing today like I just wanted to throw up so that was very disappointing because I wanted to run a 10:40 3200.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 6.30 |
| |
| | AM- 2.42 miles on the treadmill. The scenery and wild life was just breathtaking!
PM- 5.7 miles. 5.2 miles with Riley, Ali, Texas and Matt. We went up Reaper then up to the G then down to the high school Ali's way. My thighs were burning today. 2 strides on the track after. Jammed to Lumineers in the weight room while stretching and doing abs. Brady Olson is back from SUU so he joined as and will be for a while.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 8.12 |
|
| | AM- 3 miles. In the locker room Josh discovered he brought his dad's pants not his so he had to call home. It was pretty funny.
PM- 4.5 miles. 1.5 mile warmup. Today was a great day because we ran 8 buddy 400's. Ali and I were partners and finished first. I kept my 400's between 70 and 73. Mile cooldown backwards on the track. Super hot day today. Stretched with the guys after and had a good time joking around.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 7.50 |
|
| | Took the AP Calculus test today. It was boring. Chilled at home after then went back to school for practice. Ali and I ran to BMW. 5.7 miles at a 7:04 pace. 2 strides when we got back. Stretching with the guys after. We talked for a while and it was funny today for some reason. Looking to put in about 3 later because I didn't run this morning.
3.32 to Manila Pond at a nice slow pace.
|

| | No morning run today because I took the AP US History test. Ran with Ali, Jared and Texas today. We went out by Tanner's trail but on the way it started raining, then pouring, then it turned to hail and then there was lightning. It was super painful and once there was lightning we turned around. The last half mile we just hauled becuase the hail hurt so bad. It was a fun run because we roasted Texas then he told us how he had been roasted pretty bad earlier. Got back to coach's and he's at BYU so Price, Josh and Joseph had hooked up a Wii to the projector and were playing Smash Brothers. It was pretty funny. I need more miles so I'm going to have to run later today but my shoes are soaked so that won't be any fun.
3.02 miles by myself just barely. Very relaxing.

| | Couldn't really figure out if there was practice or not. I don't think there was because coach was going to be at BYU. Ran around my neighborhood for about a mile and a half then ran to the high school then past valley view but didn't quite make it to Tanner's trail. Came back pretty much the same way. 6:22 average pace. My shoes were still slightly wet from yesterdays crazy run/swim so that wasn't cool. I'm almost at 50 miles this week so I think I'll squeeze in a couple inbetween my Morp day date and the dance.
2.02 miles. It was pretty tough, my legs were very tired but I got to 50. I'm glad this week is over because my legs have been pretty tired. Next week will be a little less mileage because of region. I don't know what I'm running yet but here are my goal times- 800-2:15 1600-4:48 3200-10:40

| | Put in some brutal mileage on a scooter walking my dog.
| |
| | AM- 2.9 miles. I had to get gas so I got to the school a bit late and it took a while to catch the pack. Pace was a little fast for the way out. Coach told me that I'm running the 3200 and 1600 at region. I'm pumped but also a little scared. Pray for ya boy!
PM- 5.55 miles. 1.3 warmup. The workout was at two mile pace so I made sure to be going 10:40 pace or faster. We did everything two mile pace then a jog of the same thing so 800, 600, 600, 400, 400. We didn't do a slow 400 for the last one so only three 400s. I felt really good and it helped me feel more confident for region. Riley finished first then Ali and I ran together and finished second. Stretched and did abs after.

| | AM- 2.6 miles.
PM- 4.38 miles. Easy 4 miles then 200's. Stretched after. Excited for the 3200 tomorrow.
Put in 4 laps at various speeds with Jared around 9:20 so he could try his new Victory 2's and I wanted to try my Mach 15's which I think will be better for the 3200.

Region 4 Championships (2 Miles) 00:10:42 | | AM- 2.8 miles.
PM- 6 miles. Drank a good amount of water yesterday and today. Got to Lone peak around 2:40 and chilled until about 4:30 ish. 3200 was scheduled for 5:45 but the meet was going fast. Ran about 1.4 mile warmup with Ali and Jared then the last .6 with the LP guys. Got a good 8:48 draining legs. Did some strides and my legs felt a little stiff but loosened them up. Got to the line. Everyone says it was a fast first lap but I don't know my splits yet. Kept a pretty consistent pace but slower 6th lap I think. Finished with a 10:42 PR. I'm happy with what I've done with the 3200 this season. Huge shoutout to my boy Asa for going all out and dropping a 10:24! Good job to everyone that raced today and good luck to everyone racing tomorrow. 1600 tomorrow, see what I can do, ideally a 4:46. 2 mile cooldown (I think) with the LP guys Ali and Jared.

| | 5.6 at a 7:18 average pace. Asa sucks. While running I ran into Josh (JT) Gardner from Timp who I used to play soccer with. He was just finishing up a run. He's a cool kid, glad I saw him and talked for a little. Did I mention Asa is the worst? Lower mileage this week but that's okay. Hoping to put together a bomb 4x800 team at JV region. Oh, by the way Asa is definetly not a GOAT.

| | AM- 2.6 miles.
PM- 3 miles. Very easy run to Lindon Park and back. After school until practice we played frisbee and we played a little afer. It was pretty fun. I told coach to sign me up for the 1600, 800 and 4x800 for JV region. I'm not sure which events I'll end up running but the 4x800 is for sure. The team is Brian, Matt, Jared and I. The Lehi team is gonna be very challenging to beat I'm afraid to say.

Region 4 JV Championships (1 Miles) 00:04:51, Place overall: 16, Place in age division: 16 | | AM- 3 miles. Last morning run of the year.
PM- 6.5 miles. Got to Lehi and Matt and I put two laps in on the track to get a feel for it. I wasn't going to run the 1600 but Carson told me to and I saw that I was in the fastest heat seeded last so I figured what do I have to lose. I warmed up and drained my legs. Did some strides and was feeling super nervous going in as the 23 seed. Asa got put in because he was in the second fastest heat to then I was 23/24. I hit some pretty good splits, not sure on the times. I felt so disconnected from the race though so it was kind of weird. I ended with a 4:51 1600 PR finishing in 16th. Cooled down a mile with Asa, Parker and a bunch of other Lehi guys. Later warmed up a mile with our bomb 4x800 team Brian, Matt, Jared and I. We were feeling super nervous and weren't sure what to shoot for. Brian said let's go sub 9. Brian took first leg with a 2:13. He got us a very big lead. Matt ran a 2:17 keeping the lead but not by as much. Jared went 2:15 and only had about 10 meters. I got the baton in first with Parker on my tail. His PR is 2:03, mine 2:17, so I was scared. After about 200 he passed me. I kept us in second. I ran a 2:13 and our final time was a 8:58. I also scored enough points for my varsity letter. It's been a good season and I'm glad I've gotten to meet so many new and cool people. I'm excited to see what I can do next year in cross. Congrats to everyone who ran Region, JV Region, and good luck to those running at state!

Lone Peak Root Beer Mile (1 Miles) 00:20:00 | | Lone Peak root beer mile went down today. Started off strong, or like 5th to last, and couldn't finish the second can like Spanky. Justin won, Craik took second and Eugune took third. Also met Eugene for the first time today so that was pretty sick. I have no clue how the top three went as fast as they did let alone finish so shoutout to them. Happy to say I'm not the only one who didn't finish. Played basketball after which was a good time. Still off running until I think June 1. Also DNF is not an acceptable race time so I'm just putting down 20.

| | Still not running which feels really weird. Turns out that Collin and I were in the same second grade class. We go way back! Schools out so that's good. We had our track banquet yesterday and I got Varsity so that's pretty cool.
|
| | First practice of senior year. It's crazy! We played frisbee and my team won because we are legends. After coach led us through all these stretches that were new. We also did our abs so ya know, I'm gonna be huge. I already feel that 8 pack forming. We also did wall sits. There were a ton of new kids but I'm guessing half drop once we actually start the running. 3 miles easy to Lindon Park with Jerry, Riles, Jay and Matt after. We helped this lady from Alpine School District unload her car and she gave us hi chew so on the way back we fueled up on those. Mini track meet tomorrow for practice, don't have any ambitious goals just maybe a 49 for my 400. Also, if you have a running watch you like please comment what it is, my Nike tomtom is way outdated.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 4.00 |
| |
| | AM- Mile warmup. Ran the 100 and 200 then DNF on the 400. Felt super tight because we didn't really warmup and we had a long sitting rest after the 200. I'll drop that 49 some other time. 4x100. My team was Matt first, me second, Riles third and Jay fourth. We won again because we are still legends. Mile cool down. I got the Garmin Forerunner 230. I'm excited to use it on something other than warmups/cooldowns. I'm running later today to get some easy mileage. Shoutout to everyone who visited the snow shack yesterday. I aslo made Gan's favorite blogs list so I think I'm going to put that in my running accomplishments.
PM- Good run with Jerry and Matt. We drove to Provo Canyon for a change of scenery and ran 2.5 up. We went a little faster than we had planned. 6:55 average with the last mile being a 6:15 I think. My watch is great I already love it. Much better than my Nike.

| | AM- We played soccer today. It's always very scary because nobody is coordinated so your life is in danger. At best I would say it was bush league. Who knows what the score was but after we decided we tied 3-3 so my team was not as legendary as the previous days. I'm running later with JT from Timp so that'll be fun.
PM- Oh boy. Running with JT was great but I had literally eaten Texas Roadhouse 40 minutes before so our pace was sooo slow. We parked at Battle Creek and ran to Molly's. I'm trying to think of a poem but the only thing that rhymes with salty is faulty so I'm kind of stuck. I'll sleep on it then have something good tomorrow though. Thanks for the birthday wishes. So happy I can finally go to stake dances.

| | There wasn't organinzed practice today because coach couldn't come so I ran by myself. It wasn't that great of a run. I ran to the pond did a lap around it and came back. My knees hurt kind of like they did last time I started to run again so they won't hurt in a little but for now it's annoying. Also I wrote a poem.
Gan is so salty and likes to roast
For some reason she roasts me the most
It often makes me feel bad
Then I become quite sad
But it's okay because in the end
I know she's a (mostly) good friend

| | Wowzerz! Wowie wow wow! I just went on the hottest run of my life! 7:19 average pace for 5.01 miles. The heat drained me and sweat kept getting in my eyes which stung like crazy. I ran from my house to the turn around point for 1100 then 1100 backwards back to my house. I need to start drinking lots of water again that'll help me on the runs. I also need to do more abs which might suprise you all because I'm shredded but yes, I do need to do more. Excited to run with the team tomorrow and for the 24 hour relay.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 5.01 |
|
| | 800 warm up on the grass then 6 800 repeats. I was hitting the pace I want to be by the end of the season but then I held back a little for the last three. It was a good workout. Cooled down on the track for 800 after. The 24 hour relay is today and I'm the first leg so that's pretty cool.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 4.00 |
| |
| | I couldn't remember when I ran my miles for the 24 hour relay so I'm just putting all of the splits in here. It was a very long 24 hour relay and I may have come home during it to shower. We tried to hit a team average of 7:00 but we knew it would be a struggle when in the first mile as a team 5 kids were walking. I was able to get some sleep during the night which was pretty good. I'm doing a recovery run later and ice bathing.
First group mile ?:??

1-5:32
2-5:53
Easy mile.
3-6:00
4-5:37
5-5:38 (This was at 2:45 am)

Went to the CBC and was the MVP for cheering. Played some frisbee after. 2 miles when I got home then an ice bath.

| | I thought we were going to go hard today but coach just had us to 4 miles easy instead. When we got back to the high school coach had us play frisbee for a little but no one would actually play so it wasn't super fun. I ran .5 during that and then .5 by myself to hit 5. Coach brought donuts after and orange juiceand chocolate milk. We had 9 guys show up today and we have 38 who said they're running so we were missing quite a few. I'm running the Stawberry Days 5k next Saturday with Riles, Jerry and Ali and maybe some other guys on the team. Don't have a plan on what to throw down yet and I'm not sure how good the competition is so I don't know if I should go for top 5 or what. I'll figure it out later, maybe the day of.

| | High adventure until Thursday. Will log my miles afer.
|
| | 3 mile shake out. I was going to go pretty slow but it didn't feel good so I sped up. Splits were 6:40, 6:38 and 6:41. I felt pretty good after the little brake I took because of high adventure. I was going to run there but there were a couple reasons that I didn't so I felt okay not running. The Strawberry days 5k will have a good top 10 ish it looks like with Brady Olson who runs at SUU as well as Casey's little brother Carson and some of the other PGXC guys like Riles, Brain, Jerry, Reed and Ali. It should be a good time running with the boys and I'm guessing we will stay clumped and all finish top 10. I've got some 600s to do later tonight and I need to do some abs.
1600 warm up then 8x600s with a two minute rest inbetween followed by a 1600 cool down. Running a 1:55 600 is a 16:00 5k and a 2:02 is a 17:00 5k and we were supposed to run at 5k pace. My splits were 1:54, 49, 55, 55, 59, 55, 58, 56. It felt really good and I dind't get kid napped even though it was dark. Going to use the stick now.

| | Today we met at coach's shop at 7 to go to Willow Park in Lehi. I hate Willow Park so much. I'm not really sure why but running there is just so tough. On the way out we ran with a decently sized pack but on the way back it was Riles and both Matts and me. Brady and Reed went farther then we did. We cut the run a little short because of the 5k tomorrow and didn't go as fast for the same reason. 6.01 miles with a 6:55 average pace. The only good thing about Willow Park is we go to the Lehi Bakery after and I got two maple bars and they were so good. Went back to the highschool then to the fire department with Riles, Nicole and Matt for packet pick up. Tonight me and Riles are doing our recovery run on the 5k course just to see what it's like. Good luck to all the homies running Ragnar!
Ali and I got pizza for the carbs like Spencer Palmer always did and we decided not to run the course so we just drove it.

Strawberry Days 5k (3 Miles) 00:17:41, Place overall: 9, Place in age division: 8 | | Today was the Strawberry Days 5k. The PG runners met at coach's shop at 6:00 and ran to the course for a mile warmup. We had about 9 guys running it. My legs felt pretty tired about halfway in and I think it's because I didn't run three of the days this week. The course was only 3 miles and I finished with a 17:41.6. My runner card said I took 7th because Jericksen didn't register so that put me up a place but I've gone over the people ahead of me and my card should say 8th not 7th. It's weird but whatever. I was 6th from PG. Brady won then Riley, Carson Clinger, Ali or Brian, Josh, Ali or Brian, Jared, Reed then me. I'm happy with the how the race went without training the whole week. After some of us chilled around the finish line then did a one mile cool down back to the high school. At the high school we played frisbee until the parade which we handed out fliers for. After the parade Matt, Brady and I ran back to the high school to get our cars which was 1.57. Good job to everyone who ran Ragnar!

| | Got to practice and did the regular Reaper warm up which is just over two miles. Coach decided to start everyone at the same time today and give people stickers that we would put on a clip board at the top and he had a timer like they do in races. I guess last week when he tried just to use a stopwatch and write times down it didn't workout so well. We started the Reaper and Jared and Brady went out pretty fast. Brady kept a pretty consisten pace and won. I stuck pretty close to them and I felt like I was going out too fast and was worried I would die out. I caught up to Jared and passed him. After .9 miles Riley and Ali caught up to me. Riley passed me and beat me by about two seconds. I finished third with a 9:28 which is a PR for me and actually the first time I've broken 10:00. Ran down the Reaper with Matt after then did the cool down followed by some solid abs, wall sits and shin splint stuff. About 10 guys played ultimate after with Reed's disc called like an arobie or something. It was way fun to play with but everyone was overthrowing it. We had the clinic today but there weren't that many kids so coach said some of us could leave which was nice because it was hot.
PM- 4.18 miles. Even though Casey, Jared and I ran at 10:00 or later it was still way hot. We ran around our neighborhood then out and aroud the pond and told Casey about our wonderful high adventure. We also talked a lot about Weezer and what their best song is. We decided Perfect Situation was and Greatest Man as a close second.

| | Mile warm up. 1200, 800, 400 with one minute rest inbetween. Three minute rest after the 400 then repeat. Mile cool down with weights after. Planning on doing 3 or 4 later tonight. Super pumped because our new jerseys are going to be way sick!
I was going to run but I just played basketball with Zack, Asa, Connor and some others. I held back today and only threw down a couple dunks.

| | Today coach told us where to run which he doesn't usually go but I like it because it forces everyone to actually go hard. On the way out we had a pack of 5 plus Brady. It was me, Riles, Reed, Jerry and Ali. We went out about 3.5 with Brady keeping a fast pace. We came back but went up 1100 north and a couple other hills so our pace wasn't as fast. We went 7.01 with an average pace of 6:23. We did strides after getting us .5 followed by abs, wall sits and shin splint exercises. It was a solid practice. I need to work on drinking more so that I'm hydrated because I think that will help me on runs.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 7.51 |
|
| | Mile warm up. 6x800s with a 400 inbetween. I could not get my legs going which was frustrating. Barefoot mile cool down. Did some weights after. Did those weird leg curls for you hamstrings and benching as well as pull ups, dips and climbed the ropes in the weight room for run. Kept it one hundred on the bench so it was pretty good.

| | Met at the highschool at 7:00. Coach had me drive Ali, Riles, Jerry and Harambe. We met up with the top 10 and Brady at the parking lot right at the mouth of the Provo Canyon. We went up to Bridal Veil Falls then a little more to bring our mileage to 4 out. Our pace was around a 6:45 out I believe. On the way there I might have seen Sasha because I saw a guy in crocs and his blog said he ran where I did today for part of his run. At Bridal Veil we took a casual no flex picture and @brady_a_olson posted it on Instagram so if you want to be inspired search him or look at what I'm tagged in. On the way back we went a little fast. Our average pace for the run was 6:27. Riles, Jerry and I ice bathed after while Ali watched. I'm leaving for my cabin today so wish me luck running by myself!

| |
| | Good to be back with the team. Justin was at practice which was cool. He got back from his mission yesterday at 4:00. We did a mile warm up then 3 mile repeats. Mile repeats are almost as bad as running at Willow Park. I could tell I didn't run the past three days because I wasn't going as fast as usual. Mile cool down after. Weights today, kept it one hundred, did some pull ups, climbed a rope, did those weird leg things. Wall sits as well. We found out some strange things about Tanner (Texas) today. Jerry had a romantic moped ride with Riley after practice and Brady said some for funny stuff. There were a couple good roasts so practice was good. I'll do a recovery run later today.
PM- Recovery run in the foothills to Molly's with Jared from Battle Creek. The sunset was amazing! We got back to the car to find Brady and Michaela in the parking lot coming back from a hike. Good recovery and excited for Stewart Falls tomorrow.

| | My alarm didn't go off so I woke up at 7:31 and we were supposed to meet at 7:00. I got in the car then drove to Sundance. I ran the two ish miles to Aspen Grove alone then tried to find the Stewart Falls trail but got lost but a lady told me where to go so I found it. I caught up to coach and some of the girls and a couple guys and met with everyone else at the waterfall. We walked under it and it was freezing. AF was also up there so it was fun talking to some of there guys. Ran down with Riley, Jared and Brady and it was crazy. I'm glad I was able to catch the crew at the waterfall. Brian and Riley drove back with me so I didn't have to be lonely. Fun run today, doing more later.
PM- 3.8 easy out to Manila Pond, around it then back home. While I was running I saw Simko for the first time in weeks.

| | 8 miles today going north on the canal. Riley, Harambe, Ali and I ran together. Our average pace was 6:45 so not too fast but no one really wanted to push it before the race Monday except Jared who went faster and longer on the run. It was as good as a run can be for going north on the canal. After the run we had donuts and then Riley, Nico, Jerry and I went to packet pick up for the Freedom Run where we saw Thomas. Doing an easy run later today after work. Also shoutout to my shoes for hitting 100 miles today. I'm so proud of them and the places we go together. I look forward to many more trips with them!
PM- 3 miles. 1.5 out to almost the pond and back. Shoutout to Casey because he took third at the Elite camp mile running a 4:05.869.

Freedom Run 10k (6.11 Miles) 00:38:58, Place overall: 34 | | Freedom Run today. Jared and I did a 1.54 mile warmup part of which Eugune accompanied us. We drained our legs for 10 minutes and did some other warmups then went to the race line. Riley and I held back just a little at the start because the pace was way faster than we wanted. Racing a 10k was harder than I thought but it was pretty fun. The end was ruff because there were so many 5k people. I got 34th running a 38:58. It was pretty fun. Cooled down with Connor, Asa, Jared, Eugene and Adam. Took lots of pictures after, I guess I'm in high demand because I'm so photogenic or something. Chilled for a while and talked to Gan and Sami for a little so that was fun. Shoutout to Harambe who got a trophy. He's definitely my favorite gorilla. Going to roll out and do a three ish mile recovery tonight.

| | Speed workout today. A little over a mile warmup then 6x1000 with a 600 as active rest. Slower pace than I wanted today but I'm a little sore from yesterday. Little over a mile cooldown. Abs after and wall sits. I don't have work today so it will be easier to do a recovery run.
PM- 2.25 miles very easy out to the old church by the pond and back. I went very slow and it felt great. I think we might be running Molly's tomorrow so that will be fun. Also shout out to Jared for not coming on the recovery run with me.

| | We planned on going to Molly's but I guess that's our Friday run. Still wanted to do trails so Brady, Justin, Jared, Riley, Matt, Preston and I went up the Reaper and right to head towards dry canyon. The extreme terrain proved too difficult for Jared and he turned around to go somewhere else. Vefore we even hit the main trail we lost Preston. Brady and Justin took off so the run was with Matt and Riley. It was way steeper than I remembered. We didn't quite make it to Dry Canyon but that's okay. Finished up on the grass for 7 miles. If any of you want to run Molly's we are on Friday. We meet at 7:00 in front of the woodshop which is the turn where the seminary building is.
PM- 3.28 miles out to Manila Pond. Ran alone because Jared is at Lagoon and Casey is off for the week. Ready for a good speed workout tomorrow.

| | Today was a great workout. We met at the high school then did a 1.3 mile warmup to Anderson Park. The workout was 16 buddy 400s. We had a loop just over 200 meters we would do twice. My buddy was Riley. We went pretty fast and finished first and lapped I think everyone at least once. My average was 5:15 so I was happy about that. The 16 400s brought me to 4.3 miles so I did a 1.4 mile cooldown to get to 7 miles. Abs after and then wall sits. Running Molly's tomorrow so that'll be a good time. Also shout out to Jared for coming up with lots of tatoo ideas for Ali!
PM- Same direction as usual for recovery. Was going to go 3 but was feeling strong so I went crazy and hit 3.01.

| | We ran to Molly's today through Anderson Park up by Ali's house. Came back down the same way then went down to the track and ran around the rec center up the drag to hit 7 with Ali and Riley. Stretched after and discussed whether or not fish sleep. Ali and I thought they did and Jared said they didn't. Ethan said they didn't but Ali said he didn't run fast enough today so his opinion didn't matter.
PM- 2.56. Needed to get some in before work or else I would've gone 3.

| | Got up early to run with Jared because we were going boating for young mens. We headed out towards Timp taking Tanner's Trail. Out 4.5 ish then came back the same way. We didn't talk much for some reason but it was a good run and even though it was quiet I could just feel Jared's happiness radiating out from him. 6:45 average pace. The run felt harder than I expected and by the end my legs were just dead. Finishing up to 60.01 tonight.
PM- 2.42. Finished up the week with some good mileage. Cross country camp next week should be fun.

Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 11.47 |
| |
| | Reaper today. 2.2 mile warmup then up the Reaper. Finished fourth behind Riley, Jared and Ali. I think my time was 9:42. Not my best but it's okay. On the way up the girls driving coach's truck forgot to put the water in the bed so it fell inside while they were driving so some of our shirts in the truck got soaked. It was okay though becuase it wasn't like I was going to put my shirt on anyways. Cooled down for a bit then stretched. Camp tomorrow so that'll be fun.
PM- 3 miles. It wasn't too hot which was a pleasant suprise.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 9.10 |
|
| | AM- Very hilly run.
PM- 1.6 mile recovery with the team. Possibly the most brutal run of all camp. 11:34 average pace.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 8.20 |
|
| | Gut run. Going up we saw all of AF coming down. Very tough run. Ice bath after which felt great since I hurt my ankle coming down. Also, I was the first guy on our team coach put KT Tape on so I'm breaking barriers. My IT Bands were hurting and I'm not sure if the tape helped or the stretching I did.
1.6 mile recover with the team. Slighty faster than 11:34 average pace.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 10.10 |
|
| | Little warm up then our relay. My team was Brayden, Nicole, Ethan, Addie and Luke R. We got a pretty good lead and ended up taking first. I am now the three time reigning champ. Little bit of cool down after.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 2.40 |
| |
| | 1.5 mile warm up. Ran the Reaper. It was very tough today. Took 5th with a 10:30 so slower times for most people. Cooled down the Reaper and then the loop. Doing a recovery tonight after work if any one wants to come with me.
PM-3.9 miles. Shout out to Gan who visited me at the shack. It was great seeing her! Also shout out to Spencer who visited me. It was good but not as good as Gan. Hung with Casey and Carson and told each other about our XC camps. Went on an easy run with them where we put in a lap on the Junior High track to throw it back to the glory days. Going for 60 miles this week.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 10.10 |
| |
| | Good run for the most part today. 9 miles at a 6:50 average. Coming back was a little slower than the way back. Brady and Justin ran with Riley, Reed, Jared and I. We went on Tanner's trail then all the way to Texaco then on State Street all the way to Macey's in Orem then turned left at the road to the canyon and went down it for a while. Going on State Street for as long as we did wasn't fun. Barefoot strides when we got back then weights. Two a days start today but I'm going to the RSL Inter Milan game so I'm going to miss the first one.
PM- Left the RSL Inter game a little early to run. Easy 2.5 wasn't feeling more because my legs were tired from the morning run and taking a tour of welfare square for young mens.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 12.00 |
|
| | Went to practice not wearing a shirt because I saw that Craik didn't and thought that was a good idea because I don't wear a shirt anyways. Blessed the team by not wearing a shirt. Good speed work out today and I'm pretty sure it's because they were inspired by me. 1.1 mile warm up then two sets of 5 800s with a three minute break after each 800 and a 1200 inbetween the sets. Kept a pretty good pace. 1.15 cool down then stretching and abs.
PM- 3.05 miles. Listened to this song I didn't know was on my ipod. It was "We Own the Sky" by M83. It was pretty trippy. And the sunset was turning the clouds pink so that was cool. Getting my back checked tomorrow to see why I have to pop it so much.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 11.05 |
| |
| | Molly's today. We went up a different way and the hill was a little more gradual to get up to the trail at Grove Creek. Just went 6 because my legs were feeling weird on the trails and I didn't want my IT bands to hurt later. Didn't bring a shirt again and I don't think I will the rest of the summer. Second practice at 5:00 today. I hope it's not too hot but I'm guessing it will be roasting.
PM- 4 miles. Very hot. I believe it was 98. There were 8 guys total- Me, Jared, Riley, Reed, Ali, Matt, Luke and Brady. Mile warm up and then buddy 400s. We did 8 today so not as many as when we did them in the morning. I was very happy with my times/average pace. Mile cool down and then ice bath which felt incredible. We did them in the training room in big trash cans because there aren't tubs in the new training room. I shared with Reed and it really brought us closer together.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 6.00 | Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 4.00 |
| |
| | Turns out our field trip today was to my stake center becuase there is a half mile trail around it. We did a 1.1 mile warm up around the hood. 5 minutes hard 5 minutes easy all the way down to 1. Kept a pretty good pace. On the last minute of hard we went so fast because Riley, Jared, Ali and I all were trying to get in front of each other. 4.75 during the workout. 2.5 cool down back to the high school. Putting in a little more before work.
PM- 3.05. It was very hot but there were some clouds, a few raindrops and a breeze.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 11.40 |
| |
| | Warmed up with Ali for the Reaper. Didn't have the best Reaper but I'm wondering if it was because only me and Ali ran it. Did a long cool down after then had donuts and OJ courtesy of coach. Getting hyped for the Temple to Temple.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 6.80 |
| |
| Race: |
Temple to Temple (2.92 Miles) 00:16:07, Place overall: 15, Place in age division: 9 | | Fun race today. Picked up Jared and Nicole then got Riley, Ali and Jackson from the highschool then headed down to Provo. Chilled a little then warmed up. Got to the front of the line and talked to some people like Talem Franco from BYU and Luke Johnston from Westlake also some Skyridge people. Went out super fast just to be in the front for a little which was pretty fun. 4:54 first mile. 16:07 was my time. Recovered by doing the course backwards. It was a good time.
PM- Finished up to 10 then watched 4 Minute Mile with Jared. It was pretty good.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 2.00 | Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 8.00 |
| |
| | Good run today. I felt a little tired from yesterday but it was okay. Started out as me, Jared and Ali and someone was really pushing the pace. Turns out it was Ali and when he went 5:50 we told him to slow down but he said he wanted to gap the people behind us by more. Reed and Brady caught up to us at about 3 or 3.5. We went out four miles on the canal headed south and came back the same way. We kept a 6:33 pace. Got back and did barefoot strides. Josh Gardner and Joe Benson as well as some other Timp guys were at our school getting a drink so I talked to them for a little. Weight, wall sits and shin splint stuff after.
PM- 1.1 mile warm up then 200 easy 200 hard 8 times. Ended up being around 2.2. Mile cooldown. Stretched than took an ice bath after. Shoutout to Connor, Spanky and Justin who visited my house while I was at Arctic Circle with Case, Jared and Clain. Sorry I missed you.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 12.30 |
| |
| | 1.1 mile warmup. 7 1200s with a 3 minute rest inbetween. The sprinklers were on the entire time on a good section of it so we were going a litle slower because the grass was so slick. Jared actually slipped and fell twice it was so wet. Mile cool down backward on the track just so we weren't on the wet grass. Abs and wall sits after.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 7.35 |
|
| | Coach wasn't there today so we just ran wherever we wanted. We decided to run towards Dry Canyon. Jared, Ali and I ran up the Reaper and everyone else drove. We still went farther then them which was annoying that the other guys aren't pushing it. Strides once we got back and then abs, wall sits and shin splint excercises.
PM- Mile warm up then speed excercises with 400s mixed in. Coach said to count the excercises as mileage so I did. Mile cool down. We don't get that big of a turn out to the second practice but that makes sense since people aren't pushing it at the regular practice.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 4.00 | Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 7.00 |
|
| | Great speed workout today. We did a mile warmup then a butterfly. I think that's what coach called it. We did a 1200, 1000, 800, 400, 800, 1000, 1200. I went pretty fast today and was able to stay in first for all of them. Cooled down then stretched. I have physical therapy at 10:30 so hopefully that goes well.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 6.10 |
| |
| | Met at the high school at 5:30 so we could go to Heritage Park in Cedar Hills to help with the Timp Half. We got there and played frisbee waiting for the guy to bring water but he never did. Coach had us split into groups and do stuff so Riley, Jared and I were assigned to wait where we were to see if the guy ever came. We waited until 7 then bailed. By bailed I mean we decided to do our run. I tried to go on one of Lone Peaks runs the Alpine Loop(?) but couldn't quite remember it. It was still a good time. Then we ran part of the Half course for distance. Also, we met Tyson Green on the trail which was really cool. He ran with us for a mile so it was fun talking to him. We swam after our run at coach's after going to Daylight and Walmart. Good run today. Coach wasn't happy we just left though but he's fine now. Physical therapy went well and after doing some excercises for a little my back should be fine.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 11.30 |
| |
| | Great practice today. Did the 2.2 mile warmup then lined up for the Reaper. Today I decided to start out faster than usual. Jared and I were together in the front with Brady pushing the pace for us for most of the time. At around a mile Jared started to pull ahead. Jared finished first then I got second. Huge shoutout to Jared because he went sub 9!! I got a 9 second PR 9:19. I'm hoping to drop a sub 9 this summer. On our way down the Reaper we saw the AF guys so we ran over and said hi and good luck then we did the cool down loop. Stretched, abs, wall sits and shin splint excercises after. Played basketball at 11 for a super long time with Connor, Spencer and Asa and a bunch of others. It was a great time. Made some bets with half court shots at the end. Said my goodbyes to Asa. He's a great guy I love him and he's gonna kill it on his mission. I'm seeing Connor one last time tonight and I'll see Spencer before he leaves next week.
Did a recovery run.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 10.83 |
| |
| | Had a pretty good turn out at practice today. Little P even came so that was a surprise. Today we ran to Lindon Park then under State Street on the trail for a while then headed out to the lake. It was weird at the start because two girls tried to run with us but they were going so fast so we just ran with them until they died after about 1.5 miles. I ran with Brady, Jared, Ali, Matt, Reed and Harambe for the way out then Jared, Ali and I decided not to go throught this factory thing so we turned a different way and just ran back together. 9.5 miles 6:47 average then 4 barefoot strides after. Said bye to Connor last night. It sucked.
Nice little recovery. Almost ran into two trash cans because it was so dark. Ready to have a killer speed workout tomorrow.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 3.03 | Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 9.50 |
| |
| | Good speed workout today. It was a little confusing- 800 hard, 200 easy, 600 hard, 400 easy, 400 hard and then a mile and two minute rest three times.
Had a great run with Clain. Very fun and refreshing!
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 10.61 |
|
| | Today we started off easy with about a 7:45 first mile. We went down to the church by Locust then by Central down 1100 to Discovery then on 1800 past the light heading toward AF High. We went out 29 minutes because we thought going back to the high school would take longer because there's some up hill but we came back quicker than we went out to we finished up on the track. 6:39 average pace. Strides after. Saw Casey and Carson coming home from their practice on our run. Practice in three hours.
Little over a mile warm up. Buddy 800s. My legs were feeling pretty dead so I dind't go as fast as I wanted but I still did well. My partner was Ali and we were able to pull out the win. Mile cool down, stretched then ice bath.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 13.15 |
| |
| | Today the varsity guys ran to my stake center by Discovery Park while everyone else drove. Our workout was 3 mile repeats with a 5 minute rest inbetween each one. I felt pretty good today. I was in the front so Brady was pushing me. My splits were 5:31, 5:29 and 5:19. Ran back to the high school after and stretched there.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 8.00 |
|
| | Today was our 85 minute run. Coach told us to go north on the canal and Benny D complained and coach told him to be quiet because he doesn't ever come so that made us all laugh. We started off with Jared, Ali, Wade, Harambe, Matt and Eric and started out with a 7:30 mile. On the way out we kept our miles in the high 6:40s. We made almost all the way to Lone Peak, we were just on that road behing it. On the way back Jared, Ali and I picked up the pace so we were hitting 6:35s. We had to finish up on the track to hit 85. It was a tough run but good. 12.63 miles with a 6:44 average. Had lots of water after and then thought I was going to throw up but luckily I didn't. We listened to Stronger after and it was sick.
Ya know I didn't count basketball as mileage because I don't like doing that but I figure after all I played it's fine to count it as .05. Sue me.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 12.63 |
| |
| | Reaper today. Jared and I started out fast again with Brady right by us. Brady was pushing us but then kind of stopped. I think he might have been sick today or something. My shoe came untied for the last .55 and I didn't stop to tie it so it felt a little annoying running but I'm not sure if that had any effect on my time. I was trying to get as close to 9 as possible but ended up getting a one second PR 9:18. So I am happy that I got a PR, we'll have to see what I can do next week if we even run it. We might not because our time trial is that Saturday. Stretched, abs, wall sits and shin splint stuff after.
I went to physical therapy again today. Tanner my physical therapist used to be in your ward his name is Todd Taggart. Today he used cocoa butter and these metal stick things and rubbed my back and neck. It was a little painful but I feel good now. I got some more excercises to do as well.
Hiked with Clain and Brig in the afternoon. We tried to make it to the restaraunt above Bridal Veil but we couldn't figure out how so we ended up going the wrong way for a very long time. Fun hike but I think my legs are going to be sore tomorrow.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 6.00 |
| |
| | Easy 7 today. 6:57 average with strides after. My legs were pretty sore from yesterday. Second practice at 5 today. I'm looking forward to it because we will ice bath after. We missed Jared at practice today and will miss him the rest of the week while he's away at math camp.
Tough workout this afternoon. Mile warmup and then we did 400s but we zigzagged up and down this hill for 300 meters of each and then sprinted 100 back. We did 8 of those with a partner. Riley and I did pretty well. It ended up only being 1.9 miles. Mile cooldown and then took ice baths after. Riley and I went to Costa Vida after practice and it was very good. 40 minute indian run tomorrow is going to be tough.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 10.91 |
| |
| | Today was the 40 minute Indian run. I ran with Brady, Ali, Reed and Riley. We went 6.2 miles and kept a 6:25 average pace. I think if we did it again we would go faster because the pace didn't feel that fast. Strides after. Coach did these weird abs today where someone says what abs to do then everyone does it but people were throwing out crazy stuff so I just decided to do the abs I regularly do. Wall sits and shin splint stuff after. Gave Eric a ride home because his bike tire popped. Still missing Jared who is away at sewing camp.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 6.20 |
|
| | Today I ran with Riley, Ali, Brian and Eric. The run was Molly's but we had to stop at Riley's first because he forgot his watch. Getting up to the trails we went pretty slow but then once we got to them we picked it up. We came back way quicker then we went up so we did the two mile loop then finished with two laps on the track. Our last mile was 5:46 so that was pretty fun. 8.1 miles and then strides. Stretched and did some good weights followed by wall sits and shin splints stuff. Hopefully Jared is enjoying his week at cooking camp. PM practice today at 5.
4.5. Simko made a surprise return!
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 13.01 |
| |
| | Really good speed workout today. Mile warm up. The workout was three mile repeats but we ran the mile with the first 400 at mile pace then 1000 at three mile pace then the last 200 faster than mile pace. We did an 800 inbetween for active rest. I thought I started too fast on the first mile and thought I would be tired on the second two but my splits were 5:20, 5:22 then 5:21. Stretched after and didn't have to do weights or abs. Our jerseys are supposed to come today so that's pretty exciting. Tomorrow we have our 90 minute run and it will be good to have Jared back from his poetry camp that he's been at this week. Might put in three miles later today might not.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 6.00 |
| |
| | Well today was a tough run. It was our 90 minute cap run. We started off with Brady, Riley, Jared, Ali, Simko, Wade, Harambe and Matt. It was good having Jared running with us again after his week at marching band camp. We went on the canal down to Provo Canyon then ran on the trail that goes to River Woods. Running near the canyon was tough becasue it was so windy. We also almost got hit by a car which was exciting to say the least haha. We saw four BYU guys running so that was cool. Came back at a quicker pace and lost Matt, Harambe, Wade and Simko. Riley, Jared and Brady got about 200 meters on me at the end so props to them. 13.8 miles with the average at 6:31 so faster than last weeks. Good run. Stretched, had some donuts and then took ice baths. Recovery later tonight probably after work with Jared. I think I'm going to get some Brooks Launch 3s today too. Also had a great date with Gan last night so shoutout to her for coming with me!
Got my Brooks Launch 3! Put it 4.20 with Jared. I'm excited to run in them. Worked with Zack tonight at the shack. Good time.

Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 13.80 | Brooks Launch 3 Sr. Miles: 4.20 |
| |
| | Not a great start to the day. I woke up late then went to the high school. I did a .2 mile warmup and saw Simko was just starting the reaper so I started a little after him and chased him down. I did PR up the Reaper 9:17 but if I had ran it with the team I could've done better. Afer practice Riley, Jared, Brian and I went to Riley's and has protein shakes then went back to the high school to check and see if our uniforms came. They had and they're so sick! We took them to the boys so that was fun. I'm super excited to race in the new singlets. I'm going to put in some mileage later at a decent pace because this morning wasn't great.
Met up with Adam to do another run. We met at the high school then went to the car dealerships/Home Depot. 7 miles at a 6:48. It was pretty fun and it was good running with someone rather than alone. Had some good conversations. I was planning on only going 5 but I'm glad I went 7 just to start the week off with a day above 10.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 3.70 | Brooks Launch 3 Sr. Miles: 7.00 |
|
| | Today we ran to American Fork high. We kept a 6:30 average for 9 miles then did strides when we got back. It's always fun watching color guard while we do our strides. I stretched then went to the counilor's office to swap some classes then went to Kneaders with some of the team. Practice at 5 in the pm.
Buddy 400s. Jared and I came out with the win. Did not feel that good so it was tough.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 13.50 |
|
| | 1.1 mile warm up. 800 repeats today where the first and third 200 were three mile pace and the second and fourth were faster. 400 recovery inbetween and a 5 minute break after 4. Kept a pretty good pace. Annoying running on the grass today because it was so wet. Jared and I were pushing each other but then on the last two recvoery 400s Reed and I went way slow so I wasn't with Jared or Ali.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 8.09 |
|
| | Very easy run today. Went out to Timp on the roads no the canal and then did a lap on their track. Took the same way back. 8 miles at a 7:02. Strides at the highschool. Riley's knee was hurting so he told us at Timp to tell coach he would be back late so after we finished stretching Riley still wasn't back so Brian, Jared, Matt and I went out to find him and jam to some music. We found him up by Valley View. Went back to the high school then did wall sits. Practice this PM then I'm going to Sodalicious becuase the Jared Slye is working until 9.
Mile warmup. Confusing speed workout that was essentially 500 hard 300 easy repeated 8 times. My legs felt pretty tired so I was about 15 seconds off the pace I wanted to be hitting. Mile cooldown and then ice bathed.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 4.00 | Brooks Launch 3 Sr. Miles: 8.50 |
|
| | Today we had a nice easy run because we have our time trial tomorrow. I'm a little nervous about it but hopefully it goes well. I'm hoping to be fourth man. I ran with Jared, Reed and Matt today. We went to Lindon Park then up the trail and on some street in Lindon. We got back to the track and did our 3 200s. Went to Reed's after to eat waffles.

Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 5.37 |

Time Trial (2.04 Miles) 00:10:47, Place overall: 3, Place in age division: 3 | | Today was our time trial. Went to coach's and then he talked to us a little about races and race day. We stretched then warmed up to Manila Pond then ran part of the course. The course was a big loop followed by a little loop then you did it again and had a little straight away at the end. Most of the guy wore spikes but at the last second I decided not to because there was a good amount of cement. I was pretty nervous and wasn't feeling ready to race. We drained our legs and did strides. We started off kind of fsat. Jared and I led for about 1.5 miles then Riley caught us and past. Jared went with him. My first mile was 5:06 so a little too fast and I felt it later because my second mile was 5:26 but that's my two mile PR so that was kind of cool. I finished third so much better than I expected. I'm excited to race because I know I can go much faster for multiple reasons, one of them being we had to run through a section where the sprinklers were on three times. Cooled down then had french toast and swam. Happy with how the trial turned out.
Worked with Zack at night got some serious mileage running from wasps that we were trying to zap. Gan came so that was great as well as Casey with Bonnie and Patch with his brother.

| | Hard to believe summer is over. It was fun with some good running and I enjoyed getting to run with some of you fellow FRB people. I put down 545 miles this summer and am excited to see how I do this season. Good luck to all of you in your seasons!
|
| | Today I ran 5 miles alone then 1 mile with the team for their warmup but half of that was barefoot. I had to get a run in before physical therapy at 3:30. I need to drink more during the day because I could tell I hadn't been drinking on my run.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 5.50 |
| |
| | AM- First morning run of the school year. Had to start off with 1100.
Another rough run. 6:52 average for 7 miles with some barefoot strides after. Didn't drink enough again.
|
Brooks Launch 3 Sr. Miles: 9.80 |
|
| | AM- 2.4 miles. We did the short version of Apple Grove even though we had extra time.
PM- 1.05 warm up then .75 of speed drills followed by 16 minutes of 30 30. I was hitting around 5:10 on the hard and hit 2.6. Barefoot mile cool down then stretched and did abs. We got our relay team and in leg order it's Jared, me, Brian, Ali, Riley. Shoutout to my Kinvara Seniors for hitting 400 miles today.
|
Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 6.80 |
|
| | AM- 2.9 miles. Canal South.
PM- Jared and I decided to run with the Lone Peak guys today. It was fun running with them even though I was feeling a little sick. Stopped in American Heritage to get a drink and they told us we had to have shirts to come in but a guy there was nice and let us in anyways. Varying distances from all the watched but I got 8.7 miles.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 11.60 |
|
| | AM- Ran to Lindon Park like usual before a race.
PM- 4 easy with the relay team and Matt. We went to Lindon Park again. 200 easy, medium, hard once we got back to the track. Stretched and got some tape on. While we were stretching we got hyped by listening to Into You by Ariana Grande and also listening to Chum Drum Bedrum Weird Russian singer. Look it up it's a great song and the music video is incredible! Having some of the guys over for dinner tonight so it should be a good time.

Grass Relays (2 Miles) 00:10:46 | | Woke up early to get to the high school for Grass Relays. We got to Westlake and then ran the course. Jared, Brian, Riley, Ali and I had a lot of time to kill so we just hung out under the canopy and talked to some people. Jared and I warmed up a mile then he drained his legs then I did. It was weird warming up because we were all racing at different times. Hung out with AF mainly waiting for the race to start. Jared handed off to me in a good position. I started out way too fast because Davis wasn't that far ahead of me but I went to catch him which wasn't a good idea because after about 1.5 he passed me back. Ran a 10:49. I need to start slower. Fun race though and still not sure where we finished, my coach thinks around 12th. Cooled down a mile after the relay was over. It was good seeing everybody today. Update- Official time was 10:46 and we took 12th.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 3.00 |
| |
| | AM- 2.8 miles without coach so a little faster than usual. Had some good bets going for Simko but he blew his chance to get $17. If any of you want an opportunity to earn quick money hit me, Jared, Ali and Matt up and we can make some deals. We had a girl on the morning run today, I think she said her name was Brian.
PM- I had to run early because of physical therapy and Matt M. had to go to the doctors so we ran four miles then did 200s right after school instead of waiting until 2:30. I went staight from school to physical therapy so I showered twice at school today which if you haven't done I highly recommend it. Physical therapy went well. Went to Pizza Pie Cafe to carbo load with Jared, Mia, Matt and Nicole. Excited for pre region tomorrow.

Pre Region (3 Miles) 00:16:04, Place overall: 27, Place in age division: 27 | | AM- Ran to Lindon Park for our morning run. We only had 6 guys today because some don't like running the day before or the day of a race. I don't think anything funny happened.
PM- Left at 5:00 to go to Westlake. Chilled for just a little and then put in a mile warm up. Drained my legs after that and did some other pre race stuff. Lined up and did four strides. The course was a little different than in the past but the Westlake coach explained it at the line. I started out fast and hit the mile at I think 5:09 with Jared and Riley. At the two mile mark Riley had gapped me and Jared and I think I was about 19th. Not sure of my second and third mile splits, I'll get those later as well as place. Finished with a 16:02 PR so I guess I have to change my goal to something faster. Shoutout to Jared for pushing me the whole race and outkicking me. Also shoutout to Ellie Bybee who caught my sunglasses when I threw them at her 2.3 miles in. It was a great race and I had fun talking to all the runners there. Mile cooldown after.

| | AM- 2.55 miles. We did the longer version of Apple Grove. Eric came for the first time so that was cool.
PM- 6 miles. We did a mile warmup and then we did buddy 800s. My buddy was Jared. I was not as fast as I would have liked to have been. My legs were feeling a little tired. The football team was practicing on the rec field so we ran by them a bunch and every time I past a bunch of them would say something like you're a beast, run faster, or you're anorexic. So motivational!! Mile cooldown barefoot after. We got 6th at pre region which was dissapointing. I'm really going to have to train hard to try and get to state. Even though I had a big PR it's not good enough so I've got to have better workouts than today.

| | AM- Had a little bit of rain so that was refreshing. We were lacking in numbers today and only had 6 guys.
PM- Coach told us to run to Discovery but we decided today to rename that run AF stop light because that's usally where we go to. We started off with a pack of like 12 but then at Discovery Reed kept going up by my house to go to the temple with Harambe, Texas, Simko and Wade. Jared, Riley, Brian, Ali, Matt and Eric and maybe someone else I can't really remember went on the path around the park then up to Manila and then to the stop light. 8 miles total at a 6:4something which was a little faster then I wanted to go but whatever. Barefoot strides after. I'm excited to race at BYU and also to see you all, some more than others.

| | AM- 3 miles to Lindon Park and back. Bets today- Tyler Barry for $7 Reed for $10.
PM- Lindon Park again with Ali. We were all going to run with the girls but they wanted to got to Macey's and Ali and I didn't want to go back up 200 South to the high school so we just ran alone nice and slow. Hit up Pizza Pie Cafe with Jared, Reed and Matt to carbo load then Jared and I appeared at the football game for 3.7 seconds then jammed at Riley's and did some free styling. It was some high quality stuff.

BYU Autumn Classic (3 Miles) 00:16:39, Place in age division: 27 | | Met at the high school at 6:45. Good ride to the meet. Watched races for a little then chilled under our canopy thing with the other varsity guys. Warmed up around 10:30 with a mile and then we drained our legs and stuff. The boxes at the start were nice and big and I got the front with Riley and Jared. I wanted to start this race a little slower than usual because my second mile is always a struggle. I ran a 5:15 first mile though and then died for the second and ran a 5:50. I hadn't really planned on being in the top 30 because I thought it would be very tough but throughout the race I kept hearing places and it was usually around 30 so then I decided to try for it. I finished with a 16:39 and got 27th so that was cool. Shout out to Jared and Riley who were 24th and 23rd. It was a really fun meet and I enjoyed seeing everybody!

| | Today we had practice at 7:30 which I like a lot more than 2:30. Coach told us we could go wherever we wanted today and for only 30 minutes so it was pretty nice. Jared, Brian, Matt and I decided to head towards Timp on Tanner's trail and we almost made it to the legend Zac Slater's house. I miss that guy. He was one great friend but he's killing it in Portugal so as Connor would say, we gucci. We started out above 7 becuase we were all kind of tired from Saturday. The last mile was our fastest and with about 600 left Jared and I just both took off to try and beat each other but finished at the same time. Coach had us play frisbee after and I got 1.7 barefoot miles. My team wrecked mainly because Brian scored like 27 times and Harambe had some good catches and I had some lock down defense, not really but ya know just gotta hype myself up a bit. Shoutout to Jared for trying to beat us. Donuts and chocolate milk after which I might have spilled all over the counter haha. Good time up the canyon Saturday so shoutout to Gan for the invite.

| | 2.9 in the am.
Practice started late as usual and then coached talked to the guys team so I didn't run much because I have physical therapy. Just 3. Didn't really drink yesterday or today so that's a problem. Going to try to drink a lot tonight.
Shoutout to me for possibly needing a cortisone shot for my back.

| | AM- 3 miles. Had a discussion on how many pull ups Ali can do. He says 15 in a row but no one believed him.
PM- Mile warmup then 1200, 1000, 800, 400 with the same distance as recovery besides the 400. The 400 I decided to do barefoot and I also did the mile after barefoot.
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 7.75 |
|
| | AM- 2.7 miles. Ali had another very random quote, more random than, "I've never been with a big girl before." Not sure where he comes up with all the things he says but it's very entertaining!
PM- 5 miles at a decent pace with 8 other guys. We played a game where Ali would imitate different peoples running forms and we would have to guess whose it was. It was pretty fun. Barefoot strides after then stretching and varsity talked about how we want to train distance rather than minutes from now on. Reed taped me so shoutout to him. Good luck to everyone who is racing tomorrow!
|
Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 7.70 |
| |
| | AM- Classic 3.05 to Lindon Park. Matt, Jared and I took it a little faster on the way back.
PM- Planned on running with the girls so we followed them then were with Skye and Haley and all the other girls went some other way. Jared, Riley, Matt and I only did 3.05 but most of the guys did 4 or 5. They're such overachievers. Had a good face time with some of the Lone Peak XC at lunch today and then enjoyed texting Justin. Un shoutout to Josh for not taking the chance to earn $3. Bush league. Soldier Hollow tomorrow should be tough but fun. I'm going to try to go top 20 so we'll see how it goes.

Wasatch Invite (3.15 Miles) 00:18:17, Place in age division: 19 | | Very strict bus driver today. He caught me standing up but didn't notice when I laid down on the floor so that was good. Jared gave me an apple and banana because we're out so shoutout to him. Got to Soldier Hollow and walked some of the course but then Jared and I got bored and stopped. Chilled for a while and decided to race in my Mach 15s. 1.15 mile warmup, stretched, drained legs and did strides before the race. I started quick but it was super hilly so the first mile was 5:50 ish and the second was like 6:05 and the last around 5:40. The hills were very tough and I think it was the toughest race I've had but I was able to finish in the top 20 and get a sick medal that is pure gold. Throughout the race I stayed around 17-20 place. Both PG teams got 4th. I'm happy with how the race turned out but if I could do it again I would go harder because the last .4 or .5 required no effort since it was all downhill. Mile cooldown after and stretching as well as some quality pictures with the team.

| | Got about 10 miles dancing at homecoming. My legs feel wrecked because I didn't do a recovery run last night.
|
| | AM- 1100 as usual for Mondays. 2.8 miles there.
PM- Sometime last week our varsity guys were talking and decided we were sick of running time so when coach said time we would just do distance. Today coach said 60 minutes so we did 7 miles to Home Depot/ dealerships. The group today was Reed, Riley, Ali and Simko. 6:32 for the average. It was a really good run. Stretched and did abs after. Gotta get that 10 pack. Brian and Matt had a discussion about girls which was very fun to listen to.

Kinvara 6 Jr. Miles: 9.80 |
|
| | Extended Apple Grove. It's still super short even when it's extended. Jared was MIA due to rabies or some other type of sickness. Went to the doctor today and got three shots in my back and also some muscle relaxants so I think my back won't be hurting anymore. Currently my back feels weird because they numbed it. Shoutout to Zack.
|
Brooks Launch 3 Sr. Miles: 2.60 |
| |
| | AM- Today's morning run was pretty fun. Jared had to be back ealry so we did Apple Grove again to keep it quick. Ali and Wade went somewhere else and Matt and whoever else went quick so really it was just me, Jared and Brian. We threw down some good freestyles about lots of people inlcuding Zack and Josh. They were just straight fire.
PM- We went six miles this afternoon towards BMW. It was me, Brian, Jared, Riley, Matt and Eric. We had a fun run where Riley showed us his new running form/racing technique. We passed all the doterra buildings and there were like 4.7 million cars because some event was going on. Passed the AF boys on our run so that was cool. I got the hiccups for the last mile which was really weird so my pace slowed at the end. Barefoot strides. We had a dispute on who was finishing first out of me, Brian, Riley and Matt so we raced the last one and I was first barely ahead of Riley so screw Matt because he was a hater. .5 barefoot with Riley after to bring it to a mile total of barefoot. Reed also taped me up.

| | AM- Canal South.
PM- Luke let me borrow his shirt and hat he got from plant and soil science for a little and I rocked it so hard. Little over a mile warmup then butterfly for the workout. 1200, 1000, 800, 800, 1000, 1200 with a three minute break between each one. Everyone pushed it today so that was good but we still gotta grind harder. Ran one loop of our course to show Matt what it is for our cool down then did some weight stuff after stretching. Shoutout to Zack. Listening to Brian's radio show currently that started at 5:30. Not digging it so far but it is only the first song.

| |
| | AM- 2.8 to 1100. Good sized group today.
PM- 6.5. Jared, Riley, Ali, Brian, Matt and I went on Tanner's trail past Oak Canyon towards Timp. We had 6 of our top 7, just missing Reed who ran with Wade and Brayden. We all kind of split off after 2.8 to go where we thought it would be the flattest because it gets a little hilly then we met back up at Oak Canyon. Legs were pretty tired today but we kept a decent pace. Jared came back strong from being sick last week so that's good. Came back and Jared, Brian and I did our strides on the track. We were flying and it got pretty competitive so that was fun. Weights after.

Kinvara 6 Sr. Miles: 9.30 |

| | AM- 2.7 miles. Played that game where you have a category and then name something from it with every letter in the alphabet.
PM- 6.13. Warm up, work out, cool down. Work out was 8 800s with a 3 minute rest. Coach said to go three mile pace but then said just don't go slower then three minute 800s. Did the last two on the track becuase there was a football game going on on the lower field. It was a lot faster on the track. Abs.

PM- 4.2. We warmed up a mile then did 4 buddy 800s. The rotation was Jared, Reed and Riley and then their partners were Matt, Ali and I. It was a really solid workout for us. I hit a 5:10 for my first mile split then 5:06. After the 800s we did some speed build ups then cooled down a mile.

| | Morrison told us last week that practice was at 2:30 today but some of the girls didn't like that so it got switched to 8 and I guess he told people at practice on Saturday when I had the ACT. I decided to do a hard run so I ran to the waterfall up Battle Creek from my house. I kept about a 6:40 pace for the first 2.5 miles from canyon road up to 700 East. Then I ran the Reaper in 9:45 which I was actually pretty happy with. Then up to the waterfall which made my legs burn then back down. My pace was pretty good considering all the hills. Just checked Strave and it has my pace more than a minute slower than what my watch had though so I'm not really sure what's going on there. Looking forward to Saturday, I'm running a half marathon.

PM- 6.6 miles. Ran in the foothills with some of the boys. I think all the boys actually did but some drove to Brayden's because he forgot shorts. I ran with Jared, Matt, Riley, Ali and Eric. We headed out 25 minutes towards dry canyon. It was tough but pretty fun. Ali said some funny stuff. Strides after then some pull ups and a minimal amount of push ups. Also saw the legend Tanner Nelson today so that was very exciting. He was looking very sharp in a white shirt and tie. Hopefully he reads this.

Haunted Half (13.1 Miles) 01:19:25, Place overall: 13, Place in age division: 3 | | Went to packet pick up yesterday and the guy there said I probably should get to the shuttles at 6:00 so I did but then I had two hours before the race up at the start. I talked with one of the Skyridge coach's, Gill, he's really cool. Also met Kenny from the blog. The race was super downhill so originally my goal was to go 6:30 average but then my first 10 miles were all sub 6. After about 10 miles though it got tough mentally but I don't think any of my miles were above 6:30. There was about 150 feet ascent and of course that's all in the last 1.5 miles so that also took away energy. I ended up thirteenth and third in my age group behind Kenny the Apache and Jacob Warner with a time of 1:19.25. Fun race but my legs are very tired and my calves hurt. Got a medal for being third in my age group with a quote from Gandhi on it so that's pretty exciting. Also exciting was seeing Ryan Raff.

The Reaper (1.3 Miles) 00:09:05, Place overall: 4, Place in age division: 4672 | | 3 in the morning. Ali had the best Halloween costume. If you see him at Pre Footlocker on Saturday you should ask him about it. Some more miles in the afternoon. 1.5 for the warmup with Jared and Matt. We ran the Reaper today! I started out faster than usual which I regret a little. I ended up getting a PR. I think I can break 9 next week, my legs are just still tired from the half marathon but I'm happy with my time. Cooled down and did some abs. Shoutout to Jared whose portrait got hung up in the display case. He's like the Wayne Gretzky of art!!

| | No run in the morning. I had to get some stuff finished up for a college application. After school we had a 50 minute run. It was very rainy and a little cold. The pack today was Jared, Riley, Matt and Ali. We went pretty fast and Matt complained after because he thought Riley and I were pushing the pace but it was a really good run. We made it to Timp and saw some of the Timp XC girls. Tanner's trail was very muddy today and my calves, shorts and back were just covered. Our last mile we went 5:32 so that was exciting. 6:14 for the average. 4 strides after then we finally benched again so that was nice.

| | AM- 2.5 miles. Fun run.
PM- Mile warm up then 6 800s. We went pretty fast and it felt pretty good. Mile cool down with Jared, Matt, Riley and Ali followed by stretching and abs. I could tell today that yesterday was the first time benching in a while because I'm too sore from it. Talked about Footlocker too. It's going to be fun and same with NXR. Shoutout to the group from yesterday because we apparantly were darting in and out of cars and running down the center of the road and someone called in a complaint!

| | AM- 3 miles. It's getting a little cold so that isn't cool.
PM- 5 miles with Jared, Matt, Riley and Ali. I like running with those guys. Nice easy run 6:50 average followed by 4 strides and then weights. The run was actaully very enjoyable because it was easy and the weather was nice and Ali was saying some funny stuff. We also talked to a lady in one of those three wheel cart things you use when you're old and she was going slower than us down the middle of the road with a car behind her. She told us to stay safe so we told her to stay safe as well since she was slowing down traffic. Nice lady though.

Pre Footlocker (3.19 Miles) 00:16:57, Place overall: 25, Place in age division: 787 | | Got to AF kind of early and did a lap with Matt, Brian, Ali and Luke. Got our stickers then did a mile on the streets with the guys. It was a little cold but really my hands were the only thing bothering me so I raced with gloves. I don't like how the AF course starts so crowded so I just took off and was near the front which was exciting. Usually Riley passes me after about 1.5-2 miles so this race I decided to lead as long as I could. He caught up to me after about 2.25 and I hung on to him. With about 600 to go I started picking it up because I knew Riley has a strong kick. Riley outkicked me probably in the last 40 meters and beat me by a second. 25th overall and 16:57. Tough race. Mile cooldown then went to McDonald's with some of the team.

7.65 in the afternoon. Coach had meetings so we didn't do the Reaper. Matt, Ali, Riley and I went to almost the AF stop light. We passed the AF guys as they were headed to the Grinder. Not a super fast run today. 4 barefoot strides after then stretching and abs. Shoutout to Collin for committing to ISU! He's a beast!

Reaper today. Kind of thought we would do a speed workout but I guess not. I'm happy with how it turned out. The middle part could've been a little bit faster and I could've hung with Ali near the end but I got a PR and broke 9:00. Talked about NXR after practice. I'm excited for that. Ali and Riley made a deal and if Trump wins Ali has to give a speach about Hillary's loss and if Hillary wins Riley has to about Trump so that will be pretty entertaining.

1.5 mile warmup then 30 30s for 20 minutes. 3.4 total with a 5:57 AP. Riley used his watch only for the fast and it was 2 miles at a 5:04 pace. Good workout. Ran with Riley and Ali for all and Jared was with us for most. Mile cool down and abs. Ali delivered a great speech. Very entertaining.

Drove up to Kiwanis then ran to three story and back. 8 miles in the foothills 6:30 ish ap. 4 strides and abs after. So, that's the run but before the run we met Mr. Adams. He saw us driving up so he followed us then informed us that a truck full of naked boys was the funniest thing he had seen all week. Mr. Adams, or as he also told us, Sal. T Sinner, was an old man in a crappy old car with two dogs and he was just cooked. He was the weirdest dude. He was talking to us and kept yelling at his dogs to shut up, then he told us his dogs obey him more than he obeys the Lord and that we shouldn't grow up to be like him. He told us after the run to come by his house and grab some apples since he owned an orchard which we decided not to do. Anyways, really funny guy and next time I talk to any of you ask about him because I can explain much better in person.

Speed in the afternoon. Some of the girls made coach start practice at 2:32!!! It was crazy! We've never started before 2:37. Anyways, 1.5 mile warm up then 4 1200s. I don't like 1200s. Mile cool down after. Coach said practice will be different tomorrow morning so I'm not really sure what that mean, maybe it'll be frisbee. Or something really hard, who knows. Oh, we had our banquet yesterday, I got most improved. I guess when you drop more than two minutes that's significant improvement. Getting pumped for NXR. Coach entered me, Jared and Riley in the seeded so I'm not sure how that works but hopefully we're in it.

| | 30 minute run today. All the guys ran towards Discovery for 15 minutes. Jared, Matt, Ali and I made it to the middle of the baseball diamonds. 4.7 6:20 ap. Got back and got 1.1 in playing frisbee. At one point I was sprinting and then somehow slipped or something I'm not really sure and I slid for about 5 yards and cut my knee a little too. It was pretty funny. My team got wrecked. You can't win 'em all. Sadie's today so I'll probably get another 5 miles at the dance, maybe not.

7.2 at a slower pace today something under 7:00. .5 of strides. The varsity guys were all pissed today about some team stuff so going slow was hard because we kept picking up the pace. The good thing is we aren't mad at the other varsity guys.

| | 3 in the morning. The plan was to meet at 7 with the guys and run but only three of us ran and none of us caught each other leaving. I went on a road that the hotel lady said is called holy circle because there was no joke at least 9 different churches in a row.
2.5 or something. We didn't do the entrie course because we went to the shirt exchange. I got an XL Pine View shirt and then a Mohi shirt. It was a fun experience.

NXR Large School Open (3.1 Miles) 00:16:38, Place overall: 16, Place in age division: 9 | | Loved racing. Did a mile warm up then Ali and I didn't know where the guys went but we drained because we needed to and it turns out they did to but by a building and we didn't hear. Super fun race. I started out pretty hard and was around fourth at the mile mark in the boys open. Hit it at 4:53(?). Not quite sure on all the splits I'll check later but anyways I finished 9th in my race and 16th out of both boys open races with a 16:38 and I broke 16 in the three mile! That was really cool. PG boys took fourth in the open without Riley so we were happy. Super fun race and environment. Loved the trip minus driving in a van without any air conditioning through Arizona. Not sure how my running will be next week because my achilles is hurting for some reason.

| | Not running today because of my achilles. I have a chiropractor appointment later.
Well, I might have a little tear in my achilles. Gotta take some time off.
|
| | Crazy mileage today! Actually I just helped time the Reaper.
|
| | Don't plan on running today but I'm going to try tomorrow.

| | No running today. Did a little over 7 miles biking on the canal towards Lone Peak. It was a good workout.
|
| | Got an ultra sound on my achilles and I can run again. Hopefully. Got home from the chiropratcor around 5:00 and then did three miles and it was snowing a ton and freezing cold but my achilles didn't hurt so hopefully it doesn't tomorrow.

| | First 1.5 with Matt and Riley then I turned around. My knees hurt and my achilles was just a little sore. I want to do at least four tomorrow.

| | Today was a pretty good workout. I was happy with it for the most part. We did 4 800s with a 400 recovery. My average pace for all the 800s was a 5:10 ish. Mile cool down. My knees hurt on the last fast 800 a little but other than that I felt great. No pain in the achilles. My hands were freezing today so I took my shirt off to try and use it like gloves but it didn't work and I just got colder. I feel pretty good for Footlocker and it should be a great race!

| | I'm back. So, over the two week break I gained some weight so last night I weighed myself and weighed 7 pounds heavier than normal, 153 pounds. I weighed myself this morning and was 152 so over the break I gained about 6 pounds but I'm back down to 149.2 after one practice. I'm thinking of staringt one of those fitness instagrams now. Not really. Today we did an 800 warm up and then some cross training like jump ropes, dumb bells, medicine ball throws, burpees, box jumps and curl ups. It was some good stuff. We played basketball also. My team was pretty great, we won all three games. My team had Eric, Brayjo, Luke Rushton, Nicole and Jaggur. I think Nicole was the MVP because after about 9 warm up threes she finally made one and we won that game. She had some big plays, very impressive. Brayjo had some nice dunks too, for being only 4'8" he's got some hops. 800 cool down.

| | 800 warm up and then ultimate frisbee. My team didn't do so hot but it's all good. Win some lost most. It was fun but my hands were freezing. 800 cool down. I am sore from yesterday so that's good.

| | 800 warm up then some little relay game things then volleyball. Brayden is pretty much the Wayne Gretzky of volleyball. 800 cool down.

| | We played futsal after our team white elephant. My team was pretty good. We scored a lot. No one got kicked in the head so that was a pleasant surprise.
|
| | 4.6 with Matt. We went out 2.3 in 15 minutes and then back. 6:23 for the average so it was pretty good for the first real run I've done in weeks.

| | 5.75 this morning with my neighbor, Taylor Vowles. He's awesome. We ran up to the canal on some back streets rather than going up the Grinder. We stayed on the canal for two sections and hopped off on Manila pond road. Fun run. Played futsal for a while after with some friends from Westlake.

| | Today I ran with Zack, Josh, Clayson and a couple other Lone Peak dudes. I have no clue where we ran which is a weird feeling. All I know is we started at Legacy Park and finished there 5.4 miles later. Got home and felt like doing more but not running so I biked to PG at 9 when practice started and only Ali was there from our varsity. Biked to Oak Canyon where the team was running up a hill then sledding down, the reason I ran with Lone Peak. Biked back home on the canal and saw Reed who said he didn't want to sled either so he didn't go. He had a bloody nose which sucks when you're running. 11.2 on the bike. Very cold today.

| | I ran with the Lone Peak dudes at midnight so I'll count that for todays mileage. 3.25
This morning Zack and Josh joined us which was fun. They ran with me, Matt and Ali. We went to Oak Canyon on Tanner's Trail. 5.2 miles at a 6:40 average. Breathing was a little hard maybe because I'm just a little out of shape and it's cold. It was super foggy today but the more south we went the less foggy it was. Pretty good run but want to do it a little faster next week. Stretched after and then had donuts, chocolate milk and orange juice which was very sour. We have our 1:00 run tomorrow morning so that's going to be interesting.
