Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 18, and 19.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

7.5 miles. Hood route. Warm. Barely beat 9 minute miles. I've been playing a lot of basketball lately. That's a new set of muscles being worked. Basketball running is not like I'm used to. Then drove to Orlando with the boys to see my buddy and the new Star Wars flick.

Drove back from Orlando. Then I wanted to run. And since it was 85 degrees outside (say what?!) I decided to experiment with a bit of barefoot running. I took the kids to the soccer field. I did 2 miles warm up. Then 8 x 110ish yards fast, jog back. Then 2 miles easy. This is, by far, the longest barefoot run i have ever done. I think it went well. Then me and the boys went swimming.

5.5 miles. Hood route. 45 degrees. It's hard to believe I was running barefoot in the grass in 85 degrees, three days ago. Anyhow, Florida guy totally overdressed! You northern types would have been out running and enjoying this. Not me.
