Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 18, and 19.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

10.2 miles. Hood route to Legacy trail to colonia and back. 6 am start. The first two miles were awful, but after that it was pretty smooth sailing.

6.5 miles. Hood route to Legacy trail and back. 5:45 am start. 8:22 pace. 7:19 last mile. A bit cooler, believe it or not. I was only MOSTLY soaked when I finished.

5.5 miles. Hood route. 6am start. Run started in the rain. I took yesterday off because my right quad felt not good. I don't think I've ever been injured there before.

Anyhow, I knew my mileage was going to take a hit this week, because... This Saturday is my parents' 50th Anniversary! 50 years! What do you talk about after 50 years? You would think you've already said everything! SOOOO, Big party. Aunts and uncles and cousins coming in from out of state! Pandemonium! Well, between work and football and party coordination stuff, I knew this week was going to be a let down on mileage, but fantastic otherwise.

7.5 miles. Hood route to Legacy trail and back. 6 am start. I think i figured out what was qrong with the right quad. I have been kicking field goals and punting a lot lately with the boys. Stop kicking - stop hurting.

6 am start. 2 miles. Then home field advantage. Then 12.9 miles. Hood route to Legacy trail to Venice avenue and back. Something different today. No camelbak. I stopped and got water at the boat ramp / train station / bus station . I really missed the water in the last couple of miles.

Big anniversary party tonight after home football games. Beach party tomorrow, if there is no red tide. I think we'll be okay.
