Short-Term Running Goals:

2024 GOALS:

to not get fat

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 18, and 19.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

6 am start. 10.2 miles. Hood route to Legacy Trail to Colonia and back. Squish Squish Squish.

Weighed in BEFORE church this week. 188.5. 2.5 pound loss. I still have a long way to go.

5:15 pm. at track with Brian. I had to go to the track eventually. I've been putting this off for some time now. Both of us didn't really know what to do, so Brian made up the schedule. 1 up. 1600 (6:08). 800 (3:00). 400 (1:22). 200 easy, 200 (34). 1.5 down.

7.5 miles. Hood route to Legacy trail and back. 6:15 am start. Super humid.

I went to work early yesterday and missed a run because I had a deadline. I finished way, way ahead of the deadline. So, I'm a little ticked off at me for missing the run. On the other hand, how fast am I at my job? DANG SPEEDY!

5:45 am start. 1 mile. Turn around and go 1 mile home. Emergency bathroom stop. Don't worry, I made it! Then 2 miles close to home, with some quicker portions thrown in just because. Then 1.5 down. Rough start, good finish, not enough miles.

5.5 miles. Hood route. Bats everywhere.

football jamboree is this weekend. Saturday and sunday we have to be in North Port very early for weigh in. I will have to transform into an evening runner this weekend. This will be fun.

16.25 miles. Hood route to Legacy Trail to Circus Bridge and back. 5:15 PM start. Other than seeing the sunset over the bridges where I usually see the sunrise, there was NOTHING good about this run. I had to refill the camelbak, and I still ran out of water. I will gladly run in the morning, when possible, from now on. If I have to chose between 78 degrees with stupid high humidity / dew point and 92 degrees and slightly lower humidity / dew point, I'm taking the 78 degree run - every time.

Tommy had his jamboree in North Port this morning. Weigh in at 6:30. So, I spent the morning in the sun, had lunch at Panda Express, and then cut the grass before running. Not exactly a recipe for success. I'm going to try to get a run in before Johnny's jamboree tomorrow.
