Short-Term Running Goals:

2024 GOALS:

to not get fat

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 18, and 19.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

6 miles on legacy trail. 4 pm start. I started at venice avenue. I went north until I went over the SWOM bridge to 3 miles and back. very hot. I'm a bit bummed about not running the last 2 days. Oh well, you can't get it back.

Anyhow I have been thinking about Yes's "City of Love" for a couple of days.  I thought that song was cool from the first time I heard it in the 80's. And then I started thinking that song has some definite "grunge" sounds to it. Then I thought - Have I been a fan of grunge music since before grunge even existied? Whoa!

Is was super hot out there! I might have drain bamage.

3.5 miles. hood route. 7:15 am start. hot out. We had a couple of tornadoes yesterday. I finally got the jonboat engine fixed yesterday. At the time the tornadoes were going on, I was hooking my jonboat trailer up. then driving home. timing is everything.

11 miles. legacy trail north from Venice Avenue to 5.5 miles at Oscar Scherer Park entrance and back. I left at noon, with the intention of getting in a good rain run. It stopped raining right before I started, and has now resumed raining since I've stopped running. They still have all of the water fountains turned off at the rest stops along the trail, because of the virus. So I had to run the whole thing without water. That's a bit longer than I'd like to go without a drink in 80-something degree 100% humidity.
