I decided to do my "long" run today so I could have 2 recovery days till my next run. It wasn't that long ago that I was saying "I only have have to run 13 miles today". Hopefully soon enough :) I was pleasantly surprised at how well the run went this morning. Though I was slow, the effort was consistent and I was really trying to keep my form in check (I still have a long ways to go on the form issue). No time to stretch or foam roll. On a side note: My chiropractor had a "free day" if you bring in canned goods. So I went to get an adjustment on Wednesday. He will often do ART on my calves. I usually put chiropractors into the "witch doctor" category, but he has been helpful in certain areas. So while I was getting my adjustment, he told me about a seminar he had gone to about adjusting ankles (and how the ankles take so much shock when we land while running....it supposedly helps athletes). He did an ankle adjustment on me too and surprisingly it felt great. I guess I'm still a bit wary, but my ankle feels good (probably due to a combination of things). |
