Favorite Running Quotes:
1.
"Sooner or later the serious runner goes through a special, very personal experience that is unknown to most people.
Some call it euphoria. Others say it's a new kind of mystical experience that propels you into a elevated state of consciousness, a flash of joy.
A sense of floating as you run. This experience is unique to each of us, but when it happens, you break through a barrier that separates you from casual runners. Forever. And from that point on, there is no finish line. You run for your life. You begin to be addicted to what running gives you."
~Nike Poster
2. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
You’ve no doubt heard this. And you’ve probably recited it in your mind on a run or at the gym when you’re just beginning to get in shape. You have a goal in sight and this quote brings you back to the current moment.
But the problem is that many runners forget all of the steps between the first one and the goal. If your goal is to run under two hours for the half marathon then you need to be honest about all of the little steps to get to that goal.
You should have goals, but you should take it one step at a time. And you should be honest about the fact that you don’t know how many steps it will take to get there. ~ Vernon Gambetta

I met my friend Janae this morning. She used to be in my ward and is running St George. She called me a few weeks ago to ask me some marathon fueling questions (like I know). So we met this morning and had a great chat.
Ankle felt good. Stretch on my front lawn.
I spent all day on a class field trip. I was mentally fried my the end of the day.....too many 4th graders...ahhhhhh |

I met Kellie for our mid-week longish run. Perfect weather, great conversation and good speed. It is getting easier. It took me a long time to warm up once I got back.

Kellie wanted to go to the gym this morning to run thinking it might rain. It has beemd months since I've been with the meatheads! Ughhh... I was wishing we had gone outside. It was a long 10 mile run or 2x5 mile run. I kept trying to visual my favorite 10 mile run outside. And it was hot in there.
But the long run is done for the week. Yeah! |

| I met Janae this morning. I really like running with her and she didn't even blink an eye when I asked if we could go super slow. I was torn up from yesterday's long/TM run, so I wanted to be safe. Good conversation! It was cool, but not freezing. There was a lot of wind though. Still a million times better than the TM! AP: 9:55 Canal route...I'm going to be sad when they turn off the water!! |
