I was beyond tired and really wanted to stay in bed today.  We went skiing yesterday.  I was the "caboose" and stay behind all the kids while we skied.  Therefore, it was a slow snow plow for several hours (it was a great day of skiing though - no meltdowns and all smiles).  After 10 miles, weights and a full day of skiing, my legs were toast.

My only goal was to finish!

TT:  33:33 (3 minutes slower than last year)

AP:  8:34

9:21, 8:52, 8:32, 6:56

Mandy and I stayed with our husbands the first lap, then started to pick up the pace.  We just kept talking and running.  By the last mile, I couldn't talk anymore because we were running too fast.

I was feeling a bit down and grumpy about last year's turkey trot race.  I won the 35-39 age catagory last year and my husband's family told me I only won because my SIL wasn't trying her best.  I guess being there this year brought back all those sad feelings.  I really do need to let it go.

I've decided that Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.  No presents or major gift expectations.  5-day holiday weekend.  My kids REALLY get the gratitude and I love being grateful.  It was a good day.

I understand your frustrations with the past feelings, but girl...look at that 6:56! That is incredible!! Especially after everything you did yesterday? You are truly exceptional!
