TT: 3:01 AP: 9:42 This run goes into the "it was so bad, that we had to laugh instead of cry" category. I somehow convinced Collette to do a long run with me after we dropped our kids off at school. We drove up to Provo Canyon for a change of scenery, but we didn't start until 9:30. We headed south to the Riverside Country Club then headed up to Vivian Park. Immediately, my legs got heavy (Ogden Marathon heavy). At first, I thought it was because of my lack of running this week. But the further I got, I realized it was more than that (and probably lack of running). Collette had a ton of walk/bathroom/Chapstick/iPod breaks. Finally, I just had to keep running...the starting and stopping was killing me. She would catch up, but started feeling sick. I started to feel the nausea coming on. We were a sad sight. It was starting to get hot and the sun was beating on us (and I had no salt tablets). I had to take a few walk breaks too so the pukes wouldn't come. And my calves were cramping like crazy. I finally got back to the car and just laid on the grass....too afraid I was going to puke. Collette was feeling lightheaded too. We headed down to our secret soaking spot in the river. The red gatoraide was not feeling too hot in my stomach. Getting in the river was the best part of the afternoon. My feet started to have wild/crazy Charlie horses when they hit the water. Everything calmed down after awhile...feet/stomach. We laughed about how yucky the run was! We were contemplating stopping to get burgers and fries on the way home. It sounded yummy, but my stomach was still iffy. We settled for Cokes. I'm so grateful for Collette for enduring a horrific, hot, pukey run with me. That is a true friend! I need to upload data from my Garmin, but I'm way too comfy on the couch to do it! |
