1 mile swim (37:57)

*Hopefully I will get a chance to get in some more crosstraining late this evening.

Btw,  who in their right mind would take two physics labs the same semester? And why do those labs seem to drag on FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER? And why is there no convenient parking by the physics buildings?

(Dang ... listen to me complain!!! OUCH!!! On a positive note: I got ready this morning in under 40 minutes, and that included washing out my swimsuit and ironing my clothes! SWEET!!!!)

pm

45 minutes upright bike

Girl, you are a fast 'lil fishie! What do you use to time yourself?

From Teena Marie on Wed, Feb 02, 2011 at 19:09:49 from 67.2.102.13

There is a timer on both ends of the pool (well actually on the walls that are adjacent to both ends of the pool). :)

There was a guy in the lane next to me that was just a tad bit faster than me ... so I tried to keep up. I usually just count in multiples of 4. Each lap (2 lengths/up and back) I count as one. So I have to do this 8 times. :)

Today I was thinking about how much faster both of us would be if we learned how to do flip turns. I think I lose about 4 seconds each time I have to turn. That's over 4 minutes per mile!!! I tried to teach myself one day ... but after making a fool out of myself twice I gave up. One of these days when no one else is in the pool I am going to force myself to figure it out!!! :)

CAARRRRAP! I totally thought you were already doing flip turns, so I figured that once I learned how to do them I would be able to keep up with you. Dang. You are fast. It takes me 42 minutes to do a mile and that was trying really hard.

So, the last time I was at the pool, this girl came and swam in the lane next to me. I may sound gay in saying this, but she was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!! Wow...she just skimmed through the water and quietly did flip turns and totally lapped me the whole time. Then there's me who was gasping at each lap and plowing and splashing through the water just trying to get to 42 mins.

I want to learn how to do flip turns, too! I think I'm going to watch some YouTubes over and over and then try it one of these days as well.

PS, I just count in multiples, too! It's easier and makes it seem more doable.

Who knows how accurate my times really are. It seems like I generally swim a mile in just under 40 minutes. So I may have missed a lap or two. Who really knows. (I just had a great morning and pushed myself.)

I am sure you look GREAT!!!! There is a woman at my gym who swims just the way you described the girl at your gym. I get crazy jealous!! But there are also the wacky men who splash the water so hard that I look smooth!!!

Here's something kind of funny ... swimming makes me much more hungry than running!!!!

Btw, I think the world record for swimming 1500 meters is like 14 and a half minutes!!! Can you imagine?????

With my limited range of motion, you swim faster than I can walk.

To answer your BTW: YOU WOULD!!!! You are crazy!
