I ran my first real speed workout in probably six months. That's sad that it's been so long. But I've been a wimp and run mostly indoors, and you can't really get a speed workout on the treadmill, though you can get good tempo workouts. Anyway, it was a really enjoyable workout. I charted out a loop around my neighborhood where I don't have to worry about traffic, and it's exactly a 1/2 mile. It has a fairly decent uphill and downhill to it, but it's not grueling. My times were 3:10, 3:00, 3:00, 2:54. I was really pleased to get below 3:00. Can't wait till I run on the track and see how my speed has improved and can keep improving. |
