I'm trying to get ready for my upcoming 50 miler, so I ran 30 miles for the second time in three weeks. Once again, it was very hard. I ran 2 miles with my daughter in the stroller around our neighborhood. Then did 13 miles around Dimple Dell on the wood chip trails while listening to BYU thump Wyoming in b-ball. It was snowing lightly. Then it was getting dark, so the last 15 miles were on the treadmill. The last 8-10 miles were painful in my legs. My IT bands and quads were just hurting real badly. But I'm glad I finished the run. 63-64 miles for the week. My best for the year by far. So that's good. But I am not sure if I'm running enough miles to prepare for a solid race. But this is taking more than enough time out of my schedule, so it will have to do. |
