Ran six miles at 7:30 pace on the treadmill. Felt good at first but struggled through the last two miles. Then I got a drank and ate a snack and ran other six miles at about 9:30 pace. I wasn't feeling good at all. I think I was low on blood sugar.

I watched the Pre Classic while running. I love watching track and field. Fun to see a U.S. high school record in the two mile and some other good races.

I reached my goal of 40 miles for the week. The last time I ran that many miles in a week was March 2010. Time to saddle up for some bigger miles. My commitment to myself for next week is 42 miles. Not a big bump. Similar to this week. I don't want to increase mileage too quickly.

Great job Steve.

Hey, I saw your post/comment of the Science of Sport web page. "Barefoot" running is definately a charged debate. I like how they aproach nearly all of there discussions (they make for a good read - and I think - intelligent discussion). As a side note, Vibrams have a much different feel than zero-rise racing flats.

Hi Chad,

Nice to meet you. Yeah, their post was interesting. I do think it's hard to prove one way or the other on barefoot running. But it's interesting to discuss. I don't think I'll buy any VFF (for a few reasons), but I'll probably try some other minimalist shoes.
