I decided that I was going to long run today... Didn't know how long, just knew it had to be long because I didn't run yesterday.

Before I left this morning I decided to download a few podcasts because I tend to enjoy long runs when people are talking.  I downloaded a podcast about training for your first marathon, which was okay.  If anyone has any suggestions on a GOOD, HIGH LEVEL (not for beginner runners) running podacst, please let me know about it!

Did my first 6 mile loop like a gem.  8:32 AP

Came home took a drink and headed out for a 5 mile loop before my visiting teachers came by at 10:15.  Got back at 10:15 on the dot and I guess they already came and went???  Sent me a text wondering where I was.  8:15 AP

Back out for another 6.   8:25 AP

Extremely muggy and rather warm today, planes weren't really flying.  I looked at my e-mail this morning and they had canceled the running group due to the weather.  Really???  I thought it was rather fine.  Didn't know running gets canceled EVER due to weather.  Plus they were only doing up to 6 miles this morning.  Glad I didn't get out of bed to make a showing there.  :)

Way to GO! I'm interested in those running podcast - let me know if you get a good recommendation!

Cancelling running group for weather? Wow, I've run in some snowstorms with the BBK's that I was afraid of DRIVING to! Crazy people, they don't know bad weather :)

Nice job on the long run - not quite as long or as fun as you last long run, but pretty close with those podcasts :) Sorry you missed your VT, they must not run on Mormon Standard Time - or even wait 30 seconds!

You got me thinking about running podcasts so I did some searching (Googled "good running podcasts").

http://www.runningtimes.com/Channel.aspx?CategoryID=485 looks to have really good ones. They might be short, but if you did Play All it would just cycle through them.

Another one is at http://www.runningpodcasts.org/ - no idea if it's good or not.

This forum asked the same question and has lots of ideas: http://www.runningahead.com/forums/topic/f2f4d925612c4fd1b5cb14073c051c31

I clicked Save too early. This one is a huge list of running podcasts, although I'm not sure it has hard core runner tips in there or not:

Great pacing.

I can't believe they canceled the group!! I've never heard of such a thing. Usually I bail out before a running group ever does!

Toby, They are the podcasts from itunes. Just go under podcasts-fitness-and then they should be in the top twenty or so. I liked some of the stories I listened to.

Rachel, You are right, not as fun as with you! I miss our running talks. I had to listen to something to move the time along.

Russ, Thank you so much for the podcasts! I am so excited to go and have listen. They really seem to help on lonely long runs.

Dasha, I still don't know why they cancelled... I guess it was because it was raining a little. I am from Utah and I have ran in MUCH worse conditions. I am also a mild weather person, if it's bad, I go indoors.
