Legs were still super sore when I woke up this morning.

6 miles alone.  I only saw one snake today and it was a baby.  :)

Got to my house to pick up David and took Shot Blocks, Gatorade, and SaltStick. I was a sweaty mess.

First three miles with David were good and then I had an emotional breakdown. Yes, I started crying and craving a run with girls that go my speed.  Sorry David.  I do love running with my husband but some days it is hard for me to strike up a conversation with him while we run.  Sometimes I get so concerned how fast we are going I forget to relax. Anyway, the humidity was doing me in and I cried.  He told me to relax and that I was doing great.  We ran 2 more miles.  6 total miles together.

He dropped me off at the house and I tried to call Elyse to go out for 5 miles, she didn't pick up.  I stood in my house and debated whether or not I was going to pick myself off the floor and get outside.  I finally did.

Schedule called for 17 miles but I called it a day at 16 and walked a mile home.  Sure this sounds pathetic but I need to mentally get in the game of my long runs.  Yes, they are hard and yes, I can do them!

Ice bath.

I blame my sore legs on the weights I did this week.  Next week I will go easier on the weights.

Oh Bec. It's ok to cry. It just means you're pregnant.

I will cry MUCH more when that happens!!!!

Its great to meet another "Bec" on here! BTW - I love your wedding pic! Also, you are lucky that you can run with your husband-mine doesn't run much & just likes to bike. Good job getting through your long run!

Silly little lady...

Oh, this just made ME cry! Sorry I think I was the one with all my whining about missing you that made you break down :( I'm glad you were able to pick yourself up and go out for more alone and get it done. I know you were tired and sore from weights (one reason I've avoided them lately!), but you did a great job and that mental toughness will only make you stronger. Sing it with me now: "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!" now do it while running an 8:45 long run pace and it is like we're doing it together :) yup...I know it's bad, but no one can hear us out here anyway :)

I had one of those runs today. BUT you did it. The miles are logged and NO ONE can take that away from you. Running on tired legs, ALONE, will make yous stronger. And YES...Rachel sings that song a lot on hard runs :) I had her in my head today singing :)

Rachel,

I have to admit that I told David I just wanted to be in Utah running with Rachel. He told me he was sorry he was not Rachel and that he was doing his best. I felt bad and I do realize how cool it is to have a husband that not only supports my running but will run with me.

I know what new song I need to download on my running tunes list.

Toby,

You had one of those runs too? You are now so close to your marathon, you get to taper. I am so excited for you (and Rachel) to have a kick butt Ogden! Thanks for commenting on my sad situation of a run.

Nice job Bec. Hopefully y'all won't be in dirty del too much longer. As a former AF flyer, I can tell you that when he goes operational it won't be so hectic and lonesome. Once you get to where you're going, the squadron becomes more like a family and you will find some new running sisters. On deployments especially, that is when my wife made some of her best friends. Hang in there!
