Ian Adamson (7x World Champion of Adventure Racing, Bad Water Masters division winner, 200 x triathlon pro athlete) came to little old Laughlin Airforce Base to give a FREE running clinic this past week.  I had the opportunity to listen to him lecture about everything running for two days.  His main focus was to teach about Natural Running and Newton shoes.  I think I am baptized to the forefoot shoes that he had us train in and buy if we wanted to.

Such an amazing experience to run with a world class athlete and have him analyze my gait.  I am thinking about becoming a Newton coach as well.

I am also ready to throw all of my shoes away that are not close to zero drop.  ;)

I love this! I'm SO glad you got this opportunity...and I'm a little jealous :)

I think you should become a coach then come coach me all summer!

It was probably the best thing I have gotten to be a part of in Del Rio, won't lie.

The natural running techniques aren't difficult, they will just have to take a lot of practice. I would love to teach them to anyone! Just as long as you are willing to watch me run and critique in return.

Ian reminded me a lot of Smooth when he ran.

That's pretty cool. I remember meeting Paul Cummings as a kid. I asked him what to do about shin splints and he grabbed my shins and asked where it hurt. I was like, "Paul Cummings is grabbing my shins!"

That is awesome Burt! Paul is from my hometown. Sadly, he died a few years ago in an accident.

That was really fun to read Burt, thanks for sharing it!

When he went into the water at the lake he died very quickly, it was because his body fat percentage was so low. His family also made the decision to donate his organs, which I think is incredible. I don't think any of his kids run anymore, that I know of. I knew Scott (his son) was very fast in high school as well as one of his daughters.

That's so cool Bec. Not that he died, but that you knew the family.
