The plan this morning was to do 13, but I made it ten.  I ran with my dad and we did the first half in sub 9's (still learning racing lingo, but I think that means high 8's). I haven't ran even a mile that fast in a couple of years so needless to say, I slowed down the second half.  Also once we turned around, we were going up hill and had a pretty nasty headwind.  We did the first 6.2 in 54 minutes, I believe, and that was 3 minutes faster than the run I did on saturday and we stopped for a drink at about 4.  I need to get used to drinking when I run, I don't like it and even today with just the sip I had, I got a side ache.  If  I am going to progress though and log some good miles, I need to hydrate, especially now that it is warming up.

I wore the wrong socks with the wrong shoes and got what seems to be a blood blister on my toe.  It hurt worse this morning, so live and learn on that one.

I am still debating on running another 3 this afternoon while pushing my daughter.  Like I said in the beginning of this, the plan was to do 13 and by golly I want to do 13.  It still counts when it is in 2 parts, right??  So, if the mileage up top says 13, I did, If not, I suckered out.

I did it!!!!!!!!  Pushing the daughter even.  It was hot ( I ran about 5 pm, stupid.  It was at least 85 or 90 degrees if not more)  The one thing I hate about Hurricane is the wind.  No matter what direction you turn, you have a headwind.  Not all days, but alot of them.  That should have been my clue not to go, but I am stubborn.   Anyway, the wind hurt me today, but I did it and am glad it is over..

By golly? That made me crack up, big time! I just can't picture you using such a term. Anyway, 10 is great and you should be happy with that, as I'm sure you are. Did you stop at 10 because of the wind, blister, tired, or something else? I had/have the same issue with drinking as well, but your body will grow accustomed to it as you drink more.

I think the running with the stroller is going to pay some BIG dividends in the near future! Great job today!

Whoa! Great run, great effort. I knew you were going to be fast.

I stopped at 10 because of all of those reasons. The blister hurt and with the insane headwind and the hills the second half I was worn out. Not to mention the pace Dad kept. We started and he told me I could run in front and set the pace, then he took the lead and I had to keep with him. We ran to the Grafton road, up the road a mile or so, and back. From Rockville to Springdale the road is slow and steady uphill back to the motel.

Anyway, thank you for comments. I am feeling better and better with every run. I have mentioned that before haven't I???

Ditto what Glen said. "By golly?" That's hilarious. Running must be doing something to your brain.

Congrats on keeping up with dad, pushing a jogging stroller, running in a headwind and meeting your 13 mile goal. You rock!

This is a family friendly website. Therefore, I use words like "by golly" rather than others that I would use normally. Thanks for the words of encouragement.

Always good for a laugh!!

Awesome job running all 13 in 1 day. I'm very impressed with your dedication and how far you've come in under 4 months!!! Keep it up!
