62F.  7:29 AP.  Kept it a shorter effort today, hoping to be somewhat fresh for the 10K tomorrow.  It's going to be 70 degrees with 20+ mph wind.  Don't care too much, I am really just running it to get a good hard effort in anyway.  I was definitely never expecting to run the sub-38 McMillan thinks I can do.  Actually if I even run a sub-40, I'd be pretty surprised.

Oh, and I pooped in the bushes again today.  Did not even make it 2 miles.

*Here's an update from the 10K facebook page, from the RD, that makes me a little nervous:

"You know that feeling you get when you finish something really hard, and you know you pushed yourself to your absolute limits? You can have that feeling this Saturday no matter what your limits are. 1 Mile, 3.2 Miles or even 6.4 miles"

Do good tomorrow...and pleaseeeee don't find a bush during the race!

From Neil on Fri, May 18, 2012 at 09:36:21 from 164.165.24.5

Well done. Good luck tomorrow! I'm sure you'll do better than you anticipate. I PRed in a 10k last year only 2 weeks post-marathon. Pro Tip: Remember that spot for future reference and maybe leave some TP in a ziploc buried near the base of the bush/tree.

I would not be happy with a 6.4 mile 10K!!! Ahhhhhhh

Are you sure the RD isn't talking about the bushes instead of the race?

Well done Joe! And good running too... Have fun tomorrow and enjoy the sub 40 ;)

Good luck, Joe.

As for the race director, I think he/she needs to brush up on race distances.

Rye - I always pack a couple folded up paper towels now, ever since one of my cotton gloves had an untimely demise last winter.

JG - I know the feeling.

IJR - thankfully they had real bathrooms and I took care of business beforehand (a couple times)

Neil - good tip, although I like to spread the wealth and not return to the scene of the crime..

Jake - thankfully, it measured out correctly...that would've sucked.

RT - HA! Still laughing about your comment. It's amazing the results you can get if you just "push."

Dan - thanks, it was fun in a torturous kind of way. And by fun I mean miserable.

DG - yeah, or at least a calculator.
