51F, SSE 11 mph.  7:09 AP.  Last hard workout, 10 days out.  I copied the one Jake did before his last marathon, 10K @ MP.  I figured he won the race with that, so I should do no worse than 1st place, right?

5K easy, then 10K in 41:21 (6:40 AP).  Then a 1 mile cool down.

The AP on the 10k was a little skewed as I finished with a 6:21 mile.

The last .2 was uphill, and I ran it hard, then almost puked.  I have never been one to puke even after my hardest efforts, but my daughter got sick (threw up) yesterday so I guess I might be next.  That elementary school is apparently just a giant petri dish for all kind of diseases.  Hopefully it will just come and go; she is already feeling better this morning.

Good last hard workout! If this works for you I'm all over this run before my next marathon. I know you will do well in the race, I'm just hoping for perfect weather for you. Now quit talking about sickness!!!

Nice effort. 10 days out seems like a good place for the last key workout, I'm going to keep that in mind for myself.

Good solid run, Joe. You like primed for a PR. Being a little sick will help with the taper/taper wt. ... :)

Great final workout, Joe. I almost lost my cookies at the end of a wave run several weeks ago. It sometimes happens even when the pace isn't super hard, but just when you push it in the final stretch.

Looks like you snapped back into things quickly even though I bet it doesn't feel that way. I'll be cheering you on, as I sit around putting on the pounds.

Nice final workout, Joe. Everythiong's looking good. Relax and enjoy the taper.

Thanks all. It didn't feel too smooth or crisp like you would want, but I'll take it. I think I've done all I can do, and will just run by feel for the race and see what the legs are willing to give me. Definitely looking forward to it.

Pressing through difficult times produces macho men. Hope you can avoid the stomach garb. Last time I had it I was heaving so bad that I thought I might see my toe nails in the great porcelain potty.
