One mile out and one mile back. Warmed up 7:30 for the first 1/2 mile then pushed it a bit harder. ended up with 6:50 overall average pace for the 2 miles. Felt pretty good but the endurance is gone...I just need to get the wedding over and concentrate on some running again!

Labored run. Went out and the legs were feeling very good. with the first mile at 7:20. Then after that I had to take little breaks in the running....got to get the endurance back. Ended up with 7:34 average pace for the run but didn't feel very good about it with all the breaks....Looks like I will probably back out of the Canyonlands half in a week and a half. Don't think I will be ready for that. I will give it a couple of days.

I decided to get out for a longer run today since the weather was so nice. Started out at 42 and was 50 when I finished up...heading to 60 plus today! I wanted to keep a slower pace and start working on endurance again. Worked fine for the first 7 miles, after that I wore out. I did keep my overall pace to 7:56 for the run..........I will take that as a success.

Ran from home around Bloomington Drive to the west and over Tonaquint to the Dixie Center around the path to home. Still having a hard time with the endurance. I can tell it is going to take some time. Shin still bothering me. Too many breaks from running, I need to get back on course with my endurance. Spectrum 10k should be interesting, hoping for under 45 but the way it looks now under 50 is going to be good......amazing how fast I went backwards.....

Ran Bloomington Drive...shin pain, 7:52 average pace.

Picked up some sweeet racers from Steve. Went out for a test drive 1.10 miles. Took it easy for the first 1/2 mile averaging around 8:00, had a good hill to climb. Then I decided to push it a little harder, I ended up seeing a friend and stopped and talked for a bit. Put the hammer down and carried 5:30 average for the last 1/2 mile. That felt great! I am going to take them for another run in the morning and then decide if I can use them on Saturday for the 10k.

Not sure how the race was going to go after not running much over the last 2 months.

The day was perfect! Warmed up a bit before the race a couple of short runs up hill then back down.

Started out just to have fun but give a good push on the top half.

First mile 5:48. Felt good but knew that I couldn't hold this pace very long.

Mile 2 (7:09) slowed down a bit but wanted to take advantage of the downhill because I knew the rollers were coming on the 2nd half.

Mile 3 (7:05) I started to tire and started to take small walking breaks.....yes I am a wimp!

Mile 4 (7:39) I had run the best I could till now...I started to just enjoy the day, let a lot of runners pass me while I took my walk breaks.

Mile 5 (8:12) The breathing just wasn't there...still enjoying the beautiful day.

Mile 6 (7:50) At about 5.20 I decided to start a push. The grade of the run now was favorable with some slight downhill. I gradually moved the pace down and had to keep telling myself the end was near. Now I am back into race mode.

Last .20 (5:46) I had been bringing the pace down and had a couple of runners that I had to pass. I picked off 3 runners and had one more in sight. I could tell that he was running very controlled and easy. He was a much better runner, usually runs in the 38's. With .15 to go I decided what the heck push it hard and see if I can pass him....he wouldn't have anything to do with me passing him. Now I have a problem, There was no way to pass and I was burning out and I couldn't slow down because the crowd was there. I continued at around 5:10 or so pace to the finish.

I ended up with a PR by 2 minutes and 44:44 time. My goal was to break 45. Good thing that I had to try and pass those last few runners or I wouldn't have broke the 45. Overall I enjoyed the race but realize that I have a long way to go to get back into shape.

I ran with my new Mizuno Wave Musha2's. I really liked the feel. They are light weight but still have some support. My feet feel as good or better than after most races. The shin did great! I was very surprised at that.

A nice afternoon run. I started at the ChuckaWalla trailhead and ran up the bike path to the Ledges sales office, took a break for 10 minutes and ran back to the car. Going down was fun but not the run up......LOL
