| | Speed today. Much confusion on if we were going to the oval or not. Turns out we didn't. Yay!!! We did the usual drills with the sprinters. Then distance went up to the track. A few of the others dropped off their flats, and then we ran up to Sunnyside and did a lap in there. There was soooo much snow! It was unbelievable! It was so muddy, so instead of doing more at Sunnyside we went along guardsman to the crosswalk and crossed and went back to the track to make our warmup 2 miles. Then we did speed changes. I was able to keep up with the group (ish). I fell a bit behind. Then we did 6 400s and 200s. (400, 200, 400, 200....) So, for the 400s I got them all 1:22 or under, except for the last one. the last one I had a mental crash, and then I got a 1:26. To "make up for it" Bill made me change the last 200 into a 400. He said that I needed to get it at a 1:20 or under, and if I didn't I had to do it again. He said that he would pace me. Well, on the first 200 I felt like Bill was going really fast, and I fell a little back, and then Bill yelled at me to catch up to him. The others dropped out t the 200 mark, and were cheering me on from there. I tried as hard as I could to catch up to Bill. I was getting closer, but it was too late. He had already crossed the line. When I crossed, I felt like my legs were gonna fall off. I was so tired. I really did not want to do another one. Then Bill and I ran the opposite way, and when the others caught up we turned around and went back to were their shoes were. Then I asked Bill what time I got, expecting a 1:22-1:24. He said I got exactly 1:20!!! Yay!!! He would've made me do another one if I had not made it, and he made that clear. Between the 400 and the 200, We did a lap recovery. On the 200s I got around 36-38ish. I always just tried to keep up with Bill. It was hard, but easier than the 400s. Between them and the 400 was a half lap recovery. Then, for a cool down, we did a grass lap, but then realized it was muddy, and then did 3 laps on the track, and back to the school to make it 10. My question for the day: Why do squirrels eat acorns? |

| | HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!!!!! I had an orthodontist appointment, so I couldn't make it to practice. I did my own run around my neighborhood. I went up Harrison, down 19th to St. Mary's, up St. Mary's to 21st, and along 21st to foothill. from there I went to Sunniside Ave. and down to Le grande St. to 900 S. to Military Dr. and along 17th E. to 13th S. to 15th E. Then i went to Kensington and went up and then to Browning and back home. Enough description for ya? haha :) Anyhow, I felt like I was going at about a 7 minute pace. I tried to slow down, but ended up speeding up again. Maybe it was my music. I don't know. It was weird. And then afterward, I felt like I needed to do more than 4 miles. But Bill told me 4 miles, so I did. I went up a hill along Kensington, and it felt a bit uncomfortable, but other than that it was a really nice run. A lot nicer than a 12 miler. :) I kept getting random text messages from lots of different people. Some were from Sarah, and they were acceptable, mostly because she's a good friend. The others were from people I don't even know. I got one that said "Driving." Lots of random ones like these. All from people I don't know. It got very annoying. Sarah had long stopped texting me, and my phone kept going bzz bzz bzz in my hand. Why is it that I never get text messages, and then I get a million while on a run? It felt really nice to be such a short run. Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!!! |

| | Haha yay!!!!! we're going light to get ready for Simplot!!! (It's tomorrow!) I am so excited but nervous, and I hope I do well!!! We ran up to the track, did a mile Warmup, mile speed-changes, mile cool down, and back down to the school. My legs felt great!!!! I got a bit tired on the speed changes, but I hope my legs will be alright tomorrow so I can do well!!! Ice Bath!!!! Soooooooo cold! i got really paranoid, especially when water kept dripping on my arm from the faucet. It made me even colder!!! But listening to music made it go by a bit faster. Remember when we used to have ice baths at the track really often for Cross Country? I'm excited for Simplot!!! |

Simplot Games (1 Miles) 00:05:38, Place overall: 38 | |
Simplot!!!! It was a very long drive. I sat around for most of the time. We took a great team picture at the green screen!!!! Abigail's body was gone!!! haha :P 2 miles warmup. Then Bill gave me a gu thing and it was DISGUSTING!!!! Then I did strides and drills at the Bull Pen. Then more strides while waiting for my race to start, and im counting those for at least a 1/2 mile. I'm certain I did more than that. Race time! I was really nervous, and Bill told me to just not get lapped. He said to get a 5:40. Killed that! I got a 5:38, my new PR!!!! On the first lap I just didn't even pay much attention to running. I just went with it. Adrenaline going? I think so. On the 2nd lap, I was still not paying much attention. 3rd lap, started to get back to my senses, and I felt really good, which was weird, so I pushed a little more. 4th lap, I started to get tired, so I feel I went back to my pace before. I then felt like I was gonna crash, and I didn't want to, so I just made sure I kept up the pace. The last 300 I was told to go as hard as I could, but I was worn out, but I still tried to pick up the pace. It wasn't until the last 200 I really started to kick. Then, with 100 meters to go, I was so worn out, and tired, and my calves were hurting, and I was starting to think negatively, and then I let a girl go, WHICH I AM REALLY MAD ABOUT!!!!! I finished, but I feel I did well. Just really mad about those 100 meters. Well, I was really hoping to make finals, but unfortunately, I didn't. Why am I so mad about those 100 meters? Because if I had gone with that girl, then passed her at the end, I would've made finals. I was 40th, and they take top 36. Pathetic. I hope to do better next time. 1 Mile cool down

| | So today was really light, But im still mad about yesterday. We went to the cemetery and did 2 laps, and came back and did 2 laps around the field and parking lot to make it to 4. My calves still hurt from yesterday. Turns out I was 38th yesterday. 2 girls did not do all of the laps. That helps, but it still doesn't get me into finals, seeing as the take top 36. I might end up going tomorrow just to see if one or 2 of the girls don't race and the alternate ahead of me did not show up or something, or I don't know. I hope I can!!! I really would like to!!! (It was my motivation to run fast yesterday) |

Simplot Games (1 Miles) 00:06:04 | | So, today I decided I would go up to see if there would be a place for me in finals. It was really weird warming up not knowing if I was gonna race. I ran around with abigail for about 2 1/2 miles and did drills. Then Bill gave us a gu thing to drink/swallow/eat I don't even know which one it was. It tasted disgusting!!! (hehe it was the same kind as thursday) So it ended up being that the alt ahead of me did not show up. I bet she didn't think she'd make it in. Sucks for her. There was one girl who didn't show up, so I got to run!!!! yay!! It was the mile. I was so happy, but I wasn't fully prepared to race I don't think. I fully expected for me not to be able to race. I don't know why. In the race, I felt great on the first 800. By that time, I crashed. Abigail passed me, and then lots of other girls, and then everyone else. I lost it mentally. I need to work on that. I started to think negative thoughts, and it ruined my race. I'm just glad I did race though!!!! I got a medal for being in the finals!!! :) It's only my 2nd medal!!! (well, okay I got two 1st place ribbons from the 5k and 10k, but those are ribbons so they don't count. Right?) I like it and am glad I got it!!! :) good day. Don't know my time, because I ran for someone else, and I don't know who it was I ran for. The last girl got a 6:04, So I'm gonna put myself down as that until I hear otherwise. 6 miles cool down with Bill, Tomy, and Abigail. Why is it that some days you feel really lucky, and others you feel super unlucky? |
