One hour strike.  30 minutes arc.  One at 8:00, finally did some running, still lots of tightness.

Wife's grandmother's funeral today.

(Yesterday my dad said his arm was bleeding where the pic line had been and since he is on blood thinners we called the home nurse.  The nurse said there was no bleeding.  I think my dad had been dreaming when we woke him up with a call.  Seems we will have to verify things next time.)

Never reported on my visit with Dr. T way back on December 8.  Fortunately, nothing too severe, such as no tumors and no signs of any fractures or bone injury.  However, I do have soleus tendonitis (not the achilles, but the deep calve muscle) which is likely from muscle imbalance combination of my left soleus and right hip muscles.  So, I am supposed to be doing some exercises to work on fixing this, but I've been terrible at it.  Also, I shouldn't run as much as I was in my light-weight trainers as they have a lower heal which was aggravating things.

Sounds like you've got a lot going on. I wish you and yours well in everything.

Sounds like I might have had what you have -- I stopped running all my runs in my ASIC Speedstars, and started running in Addidas Supernova Sequences (stability/cushion shoes with a higher heal) and my calf issues have gone away. I might try running races in the Speedstars as they're lighter -- but don't want to risk the calf-pull/charlie horse that was happening to me leading up to and including SGM.

Condolences to you and your family. That is always tough, but seems to be even tougher around the holidays. I wish you all the best.

On the other hand, I am glad to see that you are running and blogging again.

I LOVE Dr. T!!! I have seen a handful of sports med doctors (due to being such a wimp) and none of them even come close to Toronto. You are in good hands.

Nice to see you back! Sorry about the death in the family, and I hope your Dad if better soon as well.
