I've really gotta start training for UVM so I can run a Boston qualifying time perferable 20 minutes faster than my BQ time so I can register early. Problem is, I can't run, so I'm looking for things I can do that are as close to running as possible, but don't hurt my knee. 10 minutes elliptical- Zero Pain 20 minutes running the stair machine, 1:20 fast walk/ 1:20 top speed (slow running pace)- Zero pain! Lower body weights- Zero pain Core work- abs and pushups I was pretty excited to be able to run the stairs without pain. I got the "I ran hard" feeling that makes us all come back to running. And, I think I can do a pretty good training program even if I can only run stairs!
