What a wonderful night. We had FHE, played hide and seek with the kids, put them to bed and then I went out for my run. I had a 13 mile marathon pace (6:52) run planned. I decided while running to do the extra 0.1 so I could do a half marathon. My pacing at the beginning was off. The first 3 miles I was just over 6:30 pace. I was worried that this might kill me at the end of my run. I was then able to settle into a pace right around 6:50 for the next 9 miles. On the last mile.1 I was feeling good so I picked it back up around 6:30 pace.

Total run 13.1 miles, 1:28:30 AP 6:46 (Oh yeah, they were flat miles. I ran around the island 3 1/2 times)

Felt great, I'm ready for a nice easy run tomorrow morning. This run gave me some confidence that I was just having a bad day at Painter's for what ever reason.

If it wasn't blatantly obvious to you before it should be now, Painter's was a fluke. We all know you are much faster than you were on that day. Having said that, I may never let you forget that fluke because I will probably never finish ahead of you in a race again! :)

Nice workout. Boston, here you come!

Oh yeah!!! That is the Rhett we know. Great speed there speedy. And to run fast at the first of your run pulled it back in and then gunned it again at the end. WOOT WOOT!! Either way at painters I was happy to run with you some and chat with you. Just imagine how you would of done if it was in the morning over doing it late at night too. Great time trail though bro.:)

Awesome run, Rhett!!! You finished your 13.1 in the exact same time it took me to run my 10 miler Saturday night. I'm positive you'll go sub-3:00 at Boston. A superb performance.

Rhett, that's an awesome half marathon performance, nicely planned and executed. You're an incredible athlete. It doesn't hurt that you are a GREAT dad. How late did you go run? I'd be so pooped after FHE and tucking kids in bed after a long day at work; not to mention you ran 20 miles on Sat. I am very impressed. Sub-3 at Boston will be icing on the cake, a well earned and deserved reward. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!!!

Fly, I think we would run a fairly even race. You have gotten fast in your "old" age.

Mark, thanks, it felt nice and easy. I never was breathing hard till the very end. That was the best part.

Dale, I wish I were positive I could go sub 3 at Boston.

Smooth, I started around 8:00. Luckily my kids go to bed at 7:30. I have been working really hard on making running like #5 on the priority list with the family/kids right at the top. I think the more I concetrate on doing what is important, the more my running has improved.

Hey Rhett, I guess it's easier for someone else to say you'll go sub 3 at Boston. Just like my wife keeps telling me I'll go sub 4 at Ogden. I don't feel confident that I can do that yet.

As for priorities, that's pretty much the reason I've been doing my long runs at night when everyone is in bed. Those long runs take a lot of time away from my family.
