Fast finish long run #5

5 1/2 miles up hill at easy effort

6 1/2 miles mostly downhill except the last 3/4 mile at mp... ended up being 7 seconds per mile faster than mp

3 miles up hill easy effort

4 miles downhill at hard effort... AP 6:18.  I didn't have it in my legs to push for a really fast last mile like I usually do.

2 mile cool down back up hill.

Total 21 miles

I'll do one more fast finish long run in 2 weeks.

Nice long run and good job listening to your body. I don't think I am going to do a 2 week taper. I think I will do a long run 2 weeks out and then give my body a full week of taper and see how I do. I need to get my legs ready for the distance and I don't have a lot of time to do it. I figure I have 3-4 more long runs in me before the big day. I'll play it by week though.

Slick. I’m still 4 weeks out. I built in a lot of recovery into my plan so I wouldn’t peak too early, so while things are going well, I’m still not feeling ready. Hopefully that won’t happen for about 3 weeks.

Stick to the plan, and all will be well. Remember to be careful out there, it’s no time for injury or illness!!!!
