I ran a nice easy 10 miles on a very hilly course this morning.  It was another beautiful day!  I can't remember a year when the weather has been so amazing for so many weeks in a row.

Great news about your knee!!!

10 easy miles on a "very hilly course" is what I want to be able to say. I'm going to be committed to running hills from now on.

How's the weight? I still need to drop a few.

Paul, In Jan. I decided that I would quit worrying about my "ideal race weight" and just let it go where went. I did also start eating only whole foods in Jan. though...nothing with added sugar, no crackers, no chips, no pop tarts (that bites), no ice cream, only whole foods. But, I decided I would eat how ever much I wanted and whenever I was hungry. My weight has stayed about the same. This morning I weighed in at 157 and if I had to pick and ideal race weight, I'd say 152. I am in the midst of my 2 longest weeks of training so may loose a couple more pounds before all is said and done. Either way I feel great and have had so much more energy than ever before in my life.

Boy, you opened a can of worms with that question, didn't you.

Yea for the lack of knee pain.

I eat whole foods too. Like a whole cake in one sitting...that counts right!

GREAT mileage yesterday and today, WOW!!! BEST part is no knee pain and the ankle is not sprained.

How do you know what's the "ideal race weight"? I seem to stay the same whether I eat a lot or less; whole or junk food. Sure...after long runs, hard workouts, I loose a few pounds but the body always equalizes the weight back to what seems to be comfortable at.

Smooth, I don't know how you determin ideal race weight. I think it would be the lightest weight you can obtain, but still feel like you have energy and are strong. For me, anything less than about 152 and I look like I am sick. I ran SGM at about 157 and had my best race ever, so maybe that is my ideal race weight.

Yeah that is a good question and answer. I have thought about what I think is my ideal yet not really sure. I have just sat around the same weight 170-173 no matter what. Might of put on a little bit over the last few months of less running. But still sitting at 175 range. Just tring to stay balanced and no to hungry.:) Good job going whole foods though. Great Harvest bread oh yeah!!!
