Today was mile repeat day.

I started with my normal warm up.  My left calf felt a bit tight, but I figured it would loosen up as I warmed up.  Instead it only seemed to get worse, so I aborted todays run just past the one mile mark.

Elliptical 20 minutes

Stationary bike 40 minutes

Iced my my calf when I got home.  It feels fine now walking around the office.  I hope it is just a little muscle strain that will be better in a day or 2.

I am so impressed that you stopped!!! Seriously, take a few days off. I am so paranoid now when it comes to running. If anything feels out of the ordinary I will just crosstrain for a few days. Seems to do the trick. Also, so glad to hear that you are icing.

Hmmm ... maybe you should see if there is a new piece of equipment at the gym that you can break! :)

Dang, Rhett. I hope it's nothing serious. Stinks that it's so close to the marathon. Perhaps you should pull out of it if it doesn't feel any better soon.

Teena, my training motto from now until Boston is "Nothing stupid", so I quickly quit running when it didn't start feeling better.

Dale, good to hear from you. Yeah, if it isn't feeling pretty close to 100% by Saturday morning, I won't run the marathon.

Hope it's nothing serious. You're very wise to stop.

Where does it hurt?

From Rhett on Thu, Feb 04, 2010 at 12:16:08 from 74.32.219.217

It hurts in the upper part of my lower calf about dead center. It feels like the same feeling you get when you pull your hamstring. Hopeing it's just a minor muscle strain that will be better in a couple days.
