Hey Rhett, how's the foot?

From rhett on Fri, Jan 23, 2009 at 12:53:13

No better, no worse. I've put in 30 miles this week and hope to get a long run in tomorrow. I have to decide if I'm going to Boston before Feb. 5th or I lose my deposit on the hotel.

From DonGardinero on Fri, Jan 23, 2009 at 12:55:19

That would be a real bummer if you couldn't go. Have you heard any news from the doctor about what it could be?

From Kathie on Fri, Jan 23, 2009 at 14:08:52

Feb 5th? That seems so early to make a decision a lot can happen in two months. Is that the hotels policy all the time or just during the marathon?

From rhett on Fri, Jan 23, 2009 at 14:40:53

I booked through Marathon tours, it's there policy to pay 1 night ($235) up front that can be refunded if I cancel by Feb 5th.

No more news on the foot. The more I run on it the more I think it is a tendon problem, possibly a tear, but I can tolerate the pain and I don't think I'm doing any extra damage, so I'll probably just tough it out through Boston, and then deal with the consequences afterwards.

From Smooth on Fri, Jan 23, 2009 at 15:22:58

O please tell me you have a rehab program for that tendon. Your mile repeats yesterday looks good.

You're one tough cookie. Nothing stops you. I'm sure it's not easy to lower your expectations/goal. To me, just being able to go and run Boston is awesome. You gotta do what you gotta do and make the best out of it. Good luck on your training and SPEEDY HEALING on your foot.

How's the foot doing Rhett? Is it getting any better?
