Tonight was Treadmill Wednesday, my night with the kids. I did six one mile repeats after warming up. I did 3 minute recovery walk/jogs in between each mile. Then a small cool down at the end.

Treadmill at 1% incline. Each mile at 9.8 (6:07). The last two miles were tough, but I worked it out. Nice not to have to do mile repeats again for a couple more weeks.

Nice workout.

I just got word Ogden Marathon sold out so my whole marathon plan has to be revised.

Great workout Rhett. Do your kids watch you run? I have teenagers and they would "need" me every 5 seconds if I were at home on the treadmill

WOW, that's an AWESOME mile repeat TM workout!!! Do you ever feel the urge to grab onto the TM bar? What kinda mind game do you play to get 6 mile repeats in those crazy fast pace?

From DonGardinero on Thu, Feb 12, 2009 at 10:19:11

Great job, Rhett!!! I think I could probably do 200 meters at that pace, but even that might be pushing it.

Paul, I can't believe how fast that marathon filled up. I'm thinking about doing TOU in Sept. Maybe I should start thinking about actually signing up.

Kathie, I do my TM work at the Gym. My kids are in the play area.

Smooth, yesteday I did the, "I can keep going for 2 more minutes, then I'll back down" game. I only have to tell myself that 3 times and the mile is over. And no I don't ever have the urge to grab the TM bar when it is going 9.8 mph. If I did that at that speed I'd probably go flying off the TM. :)

Dale, thanks. I couldn't always do that. You'll get there and probably soon at the rate you are improving.

I am with you on those mile on a TM they can be tough. At least you know how far you have gone and can keep the pace easier. What I am learning about speed work though. Is being that they are faster the faster I am done with them is what I tell myself.:) Great job man.
