USU track 8x400 with 100 recoveries 85, 84, 84, 85, 84, 82, 82, 84 seconds.
Then I decided to do a fast 200 to see if I could match Allie's 33 second 200. Started from a dead stop...no spikes,,, no blocks.....no competition except the sunbirds strolling around the track... took off... hit the finish line, broke the imaginary tape, pushed the split button.... 30.40 seconds. ha ha ha not bad for a 50 year old guy I am pretty proud of myself.

that's a fast 200!

Jake, thanks, it would be fun if I could hold that pace for a mile... I could take a shot at the four minute mile! I wonder if any 50 year old guys have run a four minute mile? then again, I think my heart and lungs would explode after about 300 meters...

Eamon Coghlan ran sub 4 @ age 41 (indoors). The age group record for 50+ is 4:27.

There is a 40 yr old guy that is attempting to run the first outdoor masters sub 4 this Saturday night at the Music City Distance Carnival.

Of course Bernard Lagat is almost 40 years old, so the masters records are going to take a big hit if he stays at it for a few more years.

Jake, interesting... and times are generally better outdoors than indoors, right, so that makes Coghlan's time even more impressive!

I bet I could run a sub 5 minute mile if I trained real hard. But I doubt I could do better than that. 4:27 at age 50+ is amazing

Scott, that is seriously impressive. I am amazed. I don't think I could run a 30.4.
