4 x 1 mile intervals on a 1 mile course I mapped out on east bench by lundstrom park. really tough workout, my legs were just dead, no zip at all. don't know why. ran as hard as I could and managed 5:59, 5:53, 6:09 and 5:57. I will call them threshold miles but they felt like VO2max.

Nice job rooster. Those don't sound too shabby to me.

thanks Burt! I am hoping to get my one mile intervals down to 5:35 by middle of May. we shall see. right now I don't see how it will be possible.

so when are you coming up to Utah to run a race so we can finally meet? still bummed I missed you in Mesquite.

Hopefully I'll be selected to run St. George this year. I know that's on the opposite side of Utah from you. Oh, I forgot. I'm doing Ragnar Wasatch Back. Are you on a team? Other than that, I get invites to all the Utah races from Mary Ann's facebook. I usually respectfully decline, although I'd love to do more downhill races.

St George- is the lottery open? I will enter it! thanks for reminding me!!

No relays for me. I want to run some fast shorter runs this spring, and then take a good portion of the summer off from running to hike, canoe and camp with the kids.

i like your 1 mile course. is it mostly flat?

burt - count on me being at the wasatch back and SG marathon. not to run. just to watch you. from the bushes.

I have the goosebumps now. Not the excited anticipation kind. The creepy scary kind.

Allie, yes, it is pretty much completely flat, and no traffic either which makes it nice. let me know if you want to join me sometime. It is a lot harder to do one mile intervals alone, that may be part of my problem, I need some motivational company. we will have to resume our track workouts soon now that the track is clear.

i am definitely up for an outdoor track workout. i need to get off of that fieldhouse track.

i like the idea of doing mile repeats on a point-to-point course rather than laps or loops. seems like it might be a little less painful, at least mentally.

i agree about the difficulty of doing intervals alone...especially 1-milers. that is my least favorite interval distance. so hard.
