No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

7:00am John 7-18

I found an abandoned shopping cart on Farwest Drive and decided to push it back to the grocery store since it was on my way home. So for part of mile 7 and all of mile 8 I was shaking, rattling, and rolling down the sidewalk and across Steilacoom Park. I got a little extra workout and some really strange looks from the walkers in the park. Gotta gave a shout out to the stroller running moms and dads. It's been over a year since I pushed Jamie on a 10 miler and I forgot just how hard it was. w00t!

5:00am John 19 - Acts 14

No splits, no time to blog either, except that I'm stuck at work at 9:00pm updating servers and watching the little hourglass. Did you know that all computers wait at exactly the same speed?

My Garmin went dead after 10 miles today! That's twice now that it's died early on a full charge. I think it's time to replace it or maybe do some surgery on it to install a cell phone battery.

5:00am Acts 15 - Romans 4

The Garmin was giving me the "Low Battery" warning again today :(
It looks like I'm not going to get much more than 90 minutes out of it on a full charge now.

I've had this thing for over 2 years, logged 582 hours of running time, and 4661 miles which isn't bad for a $167 watch. It still bugs me that the battery is the only thing wrong with it after all that use and they didn't make it replaceable. I can't throw out a good piece of hardware just because the battery is worn out. I'd love to upgrade to a 310xt, but $349 is stupid! I'm sure the inevitable upgrade is why the battery isn't intended to be replaced. I'm going to attempt a battery transplant on the 305 to give it some more time. I have lined up several donors(old cell phones) and just need to find one with a battery that is the correct size for the garmin. All the phone batteries I've seen are the same voltage(3.7) and with any luck, I'll be able to find one that also has a higher mAh rating than the original(750mAh) and end up with an even longer than normal run time.
