No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

5:00am Mark 13 - Luke 4

I almost skipped my run today because I am so tired. My neighbor had a stand-off with the police last night. They showed up about 12:30am and started in with the bull-horn, "come out with your hands up" "we know you're in there" "this is your last warning", etc. etc. I swear they said "this is your last warning" at least 50 times! I felt like telling them to shut up and just tear gas him so I can go back to sleep! Any experienced parent knows you only give ONE "last warning" before taking care of business. Eventually he did come out so they didn't have to kick the door down and shoot him. I wonder what he did in the first place? Maybe this will drum up some interest in the neighborhood for our "National night out against crime" tonight :)

WOW! WHat a night! How in the heck did you even get your butt out of bed after a night like that? I could never run that fast on a race day and that was when you had a sleepless night and just ran a marathon one week ago........I don't like you anymore! :)

From Lily on Wed, Aug 03, 2011 at 00:26:41 from 67.199.178.210

That's crazy! You know what I think, they should create some 'sleep bar', where people can check in to check out. Sleep in a silent sound proof environment as long as they need :)

Amy - Don't be hatin' I'm running a half on Saturday with Kym too, that makes 4 races in three weeks :)

Lily - I like the sleep bar idea almost as much as the oxygen bar I saw once. I think they should have those on marathon courses. I sure could have used one last week.

What were you dreaming about during your marathon? One eyed one horned flying purple people eaters?

From rAtTLeTrAp on Wed, Aug 03, 2011 at 11:42:31 from 75.196.6.39

Burt - No, but I saw one last night on a TV show. He was a blowin' it out and really knockin' them dead. Playing rock 'n roll music through the horn in his head.
