My quads were complaining every time I went down the stairs so I went out for a little run after work to show them who was boss. The first mile was a little rough, after that they loosened up and felt pretty good. I should be good to go by the 29th.

Since you had no choice but to dial it back at Boston, what are your goals for Big Sur? I bet you could have demonstrated mastery over your quads in maybe 5 miles. Nice job on the 10. You are a workhorse.

Kam - Everything I've heard and read so far tells me Big sur is not a PR course so I'm not getting my hopes up. A bq time(3:25) would be nice, but at this point my plan is to enjoy the scenery and finish strong. Just completing this one will qualify me as a "Marathon Maniac" which is kind of cool. I'll probably start at 7:15ish and adjust from there depending on how I feel.

IJR - My quads are feeling great already. Going for a run in Winnemucca at 4300' this morning after 750 miles on the bike yesterday.

Awesome run Mike ... so soon! It was great seeing you on the course Monday ... even though it was a tough day, you hung tough ... Congrats!

I ran Big Sur a couple years ago. There are some really tough hills, pretty tough course the whole way! My advice ... enjoy it, it is one of the most spectacular places you will ever run ... if not the most spectacular! I took about 100 pictures along the way, was not too concerned with my time! Best of luck!
