My first mile split was 8:15 followed by an 8:25, 8:37, 8:16, 8:19, and then I finished up with an 8:12, total time was 50:10. The roads were still bad in some spots but I was able to find some good patches so It made it easier to keep my speed up where it was respectable. I think I might stay with the 6 miles a day for the rest of this week and then I might kick it up to seven the following week. I will have to see how I do this week and also if the weather will cooperate.

My first mile split was 7:57 and then it was pretty much down hill from there. The 2nd mile split was 8:32, mile 3 was 8:42, mile 4 in 8:28, and then 8:41 for mile 5, and then mile 6 in 8:42 for a total of 51:06. My legs felt real heavy today and I just could not get going. I know it was suppose to be a recovery run and boy was it.

I also did 20 miuntes of lower body strength training.

Today was a speed day. First mile split in 8:11 followed by,8:12, 8:17, 8:10,8:22 which includes a small hill which accounts for the slower time, its about 6% grade not very long though. Then I finished up with a 7:49 final split, total time was 49:12. My legs felt okay but I felt winded which I think is normal for doing speed work. I am still having problems with my right calf and hamstring, I can't seem to get it back 100%, it's more like 70%. It seems to bother me more when I walk than when I run. The only time I notice it when I run is when I try to lengthen out my stride then I feel it. Any suggestions out there would be greatly appreciated.

It is suppose to get cold in the next few days so I might be confined to my eliptical glider indoors. If it gets down into the single digits I find it hard to go out in that when it is that cold maybe if I had better gear.

I just did a recovery run today. Started out with a warm up mile of 8:25, Then I ran into some major wind right in my face and it slowed me down to 8:56 2nd mile split. My third mile split was a little better 8:08, and then recovered with a 8:26 4th mile split. My 5th mile split was in 8:19 and my final mile was done in 8:04. My average pace was, 8:24 total time was 50:21. My calf and hamstring felt alot better today I have been doing some strength training on my legs a little more. I am doing 2 to 3 days of lower body wieght training which I do on my easier days of running, so we will see how it helps. So far so good.

I ran in the afternoon today because we had 5 inches of snow and the roads had not been plowed. My first mile split was 8:02 with a second mile split of 8:28, Then I hit the base of Harry Davis hill, which I have mentioned before is like a 8% grade for about a mile and about a tenth, it's brutal. It usually takes me over 10 minutes to complete it to the top but today I did it in 9:50 took a 2 minute break at the top and then headed back down. My 4th mile split was 8:18, followed by a 8:03 5th mile split. My final mile to make up the 6 miles was 8:00 with the final .22 miles in 1:33 for a total of 6.22 miles, total time was 52:17. It was still really cold even though I ran in the afternoon and I here it is only suppose to get worse, so I might be doing my eliptical glider if it gets to bad.

I ran in the afternoon again today to combat the cold weather and it was a beautiful day clear blue skies and brisk. My first mile split was 8:20 the roads where really snowpacked and slick. Mile 2 was alittle faster 8:17 then I hit a little up hill strectch and mile 3 was 8:31. I did a 1 mile tempo run of 7:57, and then did a 1 mile recovery run at 8:21, my last mile split was 8:16 total time was 49:46. I tryed to take it easy today after running up Harry Davis hill but I was really surprised to see my final time it was quicker than I expected, expecially with the slick roads.

I also did 45 minutes of upper and lower body strength training I have really been trying to work hard on getting stronger expecially with my legs and my upper core, I hope it starts paying off here in the near future.
