I had something really wierd happen today. I started out not feeling very good leg wise this mourning and as I got to my turn-a-round to head home my legs gave out on me. I ran/walked the rest of the way home, mostly walked. Has anyone ever had this happen to them before? If anyone reads this let me know. I feel fine other than I am a little tired today . I am not going to list my splits, because its pretty much meaningless. I've never had this happen to me before, really wired.

 

I will see how tomorrow goes.

Sorry to here that Bro. Man I don't know, do you thing maybe your pushing to hard each day? Don't let it bother you to bad, somtimes we just have a bad day every now and then. How's is your diet doing, Are you eating enough of the right kinds of foods? Carbs, protiens, drinking enough fluids I don't know. You will bounce back. Hang in there. Your awesome.

I've had something like this happen to me, although not quite to this extent. This correlated with a combination of high mileage and high intensity. This suggests you need to make some changes in your training. I would recommend the following:

Keep your mileage, but slow down. You should run 4 days a week at no faster than 9:00 pace. Slower is OK. On those days run with a slower training partner if you can.

For the remaining two days - warm 2 miles, run 2 miles at 7:30 pace or faster if you feel in control, cool down 3 miles. Warm up and cool down should not be faster than 9:00 pace. Eventually try to extend the 2 mile run to 3.

Try the above for four weeks. Then run a race to evaluate your fitness. Rex Lee 10 K would probably be a good one on March 24th.

Note that the pacing is for flat terrain. Adjust it appropriately for the grade if you are running on hills.
