Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Felt pretty descent this morning, so I got up and headed down South to join Becca for spin. Got there early and another class was going, so I did 30 min on the elliptical - easy.

Spin class was good - lots of sweat and TONS of hills!! Loved the 'slow motion' pedal he had us do. Really felt it in the hamstrings.

Since I still didn't feel quite confident about swimming with my excision I did another 60 minutes on the elliptical (it was probably a little less, because I had to switch machines a couple times).

Total of 2 hrs 30 min at the gym. Good times, good sweat and ready for a nap! :)

Oh, as a side note...ultrasound is on Monday! Anybody like to venture a guess??

Great workout may I add!

Two and a half hours?! Great workout. You are the queen of cross-training.

What excision?

Becca, it doesn't compare to yours - Saturday is my cardio day, no lifting for me! You're crazy and do BOTH!

Carolyn, thanks - although I'd much rather run! I had a mole removed a week ago Thursday. It was about 1cm in diameter on my back upper thigh, so it's a pretty big lesion that hasn't healed over yet. The best news is that it came back from the lab not looking so pretty so now they have to go back and excise a larger area with a bigger border. From what I understand it will be nearly a square inch! So, this time it will involve stitches, anti-biotics and pain meds - yuck! Not fun, but better than letting it go - besides who could complain about a large chunk of upper thigh being removed? I might just ask that he do the other side to even things out! :)

You are such a workout machine!!! Walter and Julie asked about you on Thursday and I told them, "Do not worry! She is sicker than a dog with her pregnancy, but working out like a crazy woman!!!!" SO TOUGH!!!!!!

2 and a half hours at the gym, that is as die hard as it gets! Rest up the rest of the day!!!

From RAD on Sat, Jan 30, 2010 at 18:56:19 from 67.172.229.125

Thanks Kelli! I'd much rather be out hitting the pavement...especially on nice (other than air quality) winter days like today! Soon...VERY soon!!!

From Kelli on Sat, Jan 30, 2010 at 18:58:01 from 71.219.89.82

Yes, SOON! And you can join in on our little Friday group because 3 is a crowd, we need to even things up!

From RAD on Sat, Jan 30, 2010 at 19:00:21 from 67.172.229.125

I had NO pain since Tuesday, so if all goes well I'm starting walking on Wednesday and the Friday after that I should join you!! I'd be happy to even out the numbers :)

great workout sweatin' sista!

I don't dare guess about Monday, but I'll put money on you being ready to rock the asphalt when you're back to running again.

So glad you had a LONG and SWEET sweating workout at the LC w/ Bec.

Hmm, my guess on the ultrasound is that you're gonna have a.....HEALTHY BABY!!! :)

From Bec on Sun, Jan 31, 2010 at 16:09:40 from 76.23.55.210

I am going to my dibs on a baby girl. If she benefits from all of your Xtraining, you will pop out the STRONGEST baby girl in the world!! I am so excited you are having a baby. I admire you for sticking to a workout schedule even though you are sick and prego. If I ever have kids, I want to be like you.

From RAD on Sun, Jan 31, 2010 at 18:07:23 from 67.172.229.125

QP-Best guess I've heard yet! :)

Smooth, the workout was a good one and YES you are right - that is what I want more than anything else!

Becca, I wish I could run - I really wanted to run all the way through my pregnancy. I'm hoping its not too late!!

From Michelle on Mon, Feb 01, 2010 at 09:38:43 from 174.29.77.117

Great workout! I don't know if I could spend 2 1/2 hours at the gym, that is serious dedication. I am excited for your ultrasound, I love finding out if it is a boy or a girl!
