Last 20 mile run before my marathon. Still haven't decided if I'm going to run the Ft Worth Cowtown or the Woodlands. This run was very similar to last week's 20 miler but my HR was a little higher in the early miles. Nasty day at 50 degrees, 100% humidity and windy. Now it's time to start to taper off. Not sure how this will equate to marathon time but probably not a PR. I do think I can get the BQ though and that's my main goal! With my inconsistent schedule I've had a hard time getting in the miles I wanted to get in. I wish I could have run a few more. I was happy with the speed of my last two miles although it was hard to get there. My legs are feeling great but my cardio still seems to be struggling.

Beating the 8 minute man on a 20 miler? Awesome! Dude, you are ready for whatever race you pick. Crazy last 2 miles! Well done!

Very nice last long run, now get into your taper time, the rest will take care of itself! Get that much need rest time in to recover from all the dings and dangs that pester us through a training cycle! So what’s it gunna be, the Woodlands or Cowtown?

From Rhett on Wed, Feb 07, 2018 at 12:15:44 from 66.185.238.62

It looks like you are well on your way to a BQ. Enjoy the taper.

Rhett gave you tough advice... enjoy the taper... Hey great run! Stay tough mentally, your body is there.

Thanks guys!

I think I may run the Woodlands, since I've never run it before. It's supposed to be really flat but sometimes hot.

I don't really have any dings and dnags this training cycle jut not enough miles to suite me.

The good thing is I only have to beat a small group of old men to get my BQ. 😁
