Today was another good run! Met the RLRF requirement with an exerted effort but it didn't kill me :-) Three weeks ago I did this same workout on the treadmill and it seemed much  harder. Next up...18 miles @ 7:56 on Saturday...I need a pacer :-)

Heading to another fairly big roping this weekend but I'm not entered as well as I should be. I'll need a little luck to win at this one!

Nice run today! It has got to feel good to be in such great shape. I'm glad the run faster program is working. When is your next race?

Good luck on your roping!!

Hi Steam,

I'm running the Austin 3M Half on Jan. 29th as a training run before my Cowtown marathon on Feb 26th. I have full intentions on running a PR at the 3M but probably not by much :-)

...and thanks!

From Steam8 on Thu, Dec 29, 2011 at 12:47:46 from 166.70.55.77

I'm excited to see how you do! One month to go! :)

From I Just Run on Thu, Dec 29, 2011 at 12:58:47 from 67.79.11.242

My goal pace is 7:09...ha ha...sorry, did I just laugh out loud :-)

From SlowJoe on Thu, Dec 29, 2011 at 13:30:10 from 132.3.53.68

Wow, look at those 6:40s going uphill, that is not easy. Great tempo. I need a 17-miler this weekend, too bad we don't live closer!

Good luck roping this weekend.

From JG on Thu, Dec 29, 2011 at 15:15:14 from 71.59.27.33

Nice run! That's 5 sec/mile faster than your 5k pr & it does not look like your HR climbed to high.

Yeah, I wish I was closer to, I would love to do an 18 miler with you ... I have a really hard time doing those on my own, regardless of pace!

Rope 'em fast! Good luck!!

... Joe, are you really running a 17 miler during your taper? Wow!!

From I Just Run on Thu, Dec 29, 2011 at 15:43:42 from 67.79.11.242

Hi JG,

I did notice that my run was faster than my 5K PR and this run was somewhat uphill. My 5K was very flat. I've had several runs lately, as fast as my race times, but nothing like Joe... :-) It seems my midrange speed is getting better but my long run endurance is still in question. Looking at the RLRF program it seems to notch it up in the next few weeks...we'll see how that goes!

From rAtTLeTrAp on Thu, Dec 29, 2011 at 16:40:27 from 67.160.56.253

Good luck this weekend. I know what you mean about the long runs. It's so much easier to stay motivated when you have somebody to suffer with. When I do them by myself I always end up going too fast. Last week I did 20 with a trail running group just to try something different. It was way too slow but also fun bacause the people were really cool.

Nice job! Looks like that RLRF program is really working good for you. I'd put my money on you getting that 7:09 pace goal in your half!

From Rye on Fri, Dec 30, 2011 at 14:47:11 from 174.27.80.234

I'm impressed with the low heart rates at that pace! Your body is responding well to the training.

Luck???? I think that your skill speaks for itself. Good Luck????

From I Just Run on Fri, Dec 30, 2011 at 15:53:21 from 67.79.11.242

Rye,

I compared my 6 mile Tempo run on Fri. with a 6 mile run a year ago. My HR was 159 and 160 respectivly but my overall avg pace was 35 seconds per mile faster this Friday (7:41 to 7:05).

From Dan on Fri, Dec 30, 2011 at 22:29:45 from 24.209.83.20

Nice job! You are coming along quite well! And we all need a pacer :)
