Well, I caught myself feeling sorry for myself this morning. I didn't really want to run because I feel I'm in a place where I can't achieve my goal. I remember back when I started running a couple of year ago I was always excited about what I realized I could do. Now I continually catch myself thinking about what I can't do. This is not a good spot to be in! I don't know if I'm going to run OKC in three weeks, the last thing I want to do is waste a lot of time and money to have another failed attempt at qualifying for Boston!

1 Peter 1:3

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

Every race or training run gets you a step closer. Time spent pursuing your goals is not wasted :)

What time do you need to run again?

From I Just Run on Mon, Apr 09, 2012 at 11:17:39 from 67.79.11.242

3:30:00

From Dave S on Mon, Apr 09, 2012 at 11:58:48 from 69.170.115.216

I have complete confidence that you can run under 3:30 or 3:25 if you start out conservatively with that as your goal. Just stick that 7:45-8:00 pace for 16 to 18 miles and I guarantee you'll feel much better on miles 20 to the end than you did on your last one.

Marathon pace always feels harder than you think it should in training runs but after a some taper and a little race day magic thrown in it will feel completely different.

From DLTheo on Mon, Apr 09, 2012 at 12:01:54 from 155.130.107.41

Ditto what Dave said. As long as you don't go out like you did last time you should crush your Cowtown time. Hopefully the pace group will be better paced.

Yeah, what they said :)

From Dan on Mon, Apr 09, 2012 at 22:05:33 from 24.209.83.20

I too more than believe you have it in you. Smart Pacing and fueling are huge. Most of all, You HAVE to believe... or it won't happen.

From I Just Run on Wed, Apr 11, 2012 at 08:43:00 from 67.79.11.242

Thanks guys for the encouragment... The first and last statments on the blog replies say it all:

"There are NO impossible goals"

"You have to believe"

Wow...sounds like we're talking about LIFE and not Running....!!!!
