Summit Middle School loop. Enjoyed celebrating little K's first birthday yesterday!  Can't believe she's already one. She took some WORK to get here and some trial afterwards.

"For anything worth having one must pay the price; and the price is always work, patience, love, self-sacrifice - no paper currency, no promises to pay, but the gold of real service."

John Burroughs

Beautiful morning run up Kohler and around Devil's Thumb/Shanahan Ridge.  Saw three blue jays, a squirrel, and two bunnies.

Another random blurb of thoughts today....

Up Bear Canyon down Shanahan Ridge North Fork.  Broke in my new Nike Wildhorse shoes.  Love 'em!  Nice and snug around the laces with just the right amount of space in the toe box, just the right soul (last) shape and only a 4mm drop with a tread that feels super grippy on the rocks.  These are rivaling my Altra Lone Peaks.  Time will tell if they are as durable.

East Boulder community park loop.  LOTS of runners out this morning.

I am getting close to being ready for our two week vacation that starts on Sunday.  I've been cooking A LOT lately. My goal was to have all our dinners for two weeks prepared so that we wouldn't have to do much meal prep and I think I've got it!  Our deep freezer is loaded up with jars and containers of curry, stew, stir fry, quiche, and soup.  We are going to Park City for a few days with my family and then heading south to Lake Powell for a full week of camping, skiing, swimming, and relaxing. Its going to be fun!

My achilles was super stiff this morning and I felt pretty tired and just "off" but I did get a bike ride in around noon.  We are packed and ready for vacation.  Leaving tomorrow after church.  Park City and Lake Powell here we come!
