| Aaron and I decided last minute to do a trail race together at Eldora Ski Resort. It was my first race in a very long time and I'm not in "race shape" but we had a lot of fun! Aaron earned his gloating rights beating me by 10 seconds!! We ran together for the first few miles then he gapped me on a downhill. I reeled him in up the last climb but didn't quite catch him. On the final downhill he put the nail in the coffin. The lead woman was ahead of us by a minute or two, not sure. I wasn't feeling very competitive since I'm not in great shape. I did win a free pair of La Sportiva trail shoes for winning my age group, which was cool. Mostly I just really enjoined the beautiful scenery of mountain lake vistas throughout a thick, wooded forest. The course was a fun, technical, rolling mountain adventure. Heard a guy take a digger behind me on one of the steep rocky downs. Ouch. Glad we came out un-scathed. | | Comments(2) |

| Up Bear Canyon down Shanahan Ridge North Fork. Broke in my new Nike Wildhorse shoes. Love 'em! Nice and snug around the laces with just the right amount of space in the toe box, just the right soul (last) shape and only a 4mm drop with a tread that feels super grippy on the rocks.
